The Last Semester – Part 21
Pairing: Cillian Murphy x Reader
Words: 1,856
Warning: Pregnancy, Angst
Tumblr media
A week had passed since Cillian found out about the pregnancy and he had been nothing but gentle, helpful and responsive since. Every day, he asked you how you were feeling. He brought you prenatal vitamins and constantly reminded you to drink enough water. He even risked a black eye on several occasions when running into your father who was struggling with the situation and has refused to speak to Cillian again. He was furious and blamed him for everything, thinking that he should have been the responsible adult.
You weren’t sure whether Cillian did all this simply for the fact that you were pregnant or whether he wanted to get back together with you and, whilst you hoped that the latter was true, you wouldn’t make it so easy for him this time around. He had to fight for you if you were what he wanted.
You loved him, but part of the trust you had built throughout your relationship had faded after he pulled away from you for the second time when he faced what you thought were just a few small hurdles. What you didn’t know was that, in fact, the hurdles he was facing, weren’t so small at all. He was deeply conflicted and being with you could cost him much more than his friendship with your father. It could also cost him his career and this was something he began to slowly realise.
***
It was a Sunday afternoon and Cillian was waiting for Nadine, his ex-wife, to pick up the boys from his home.
As usual, she was late and his sons were getting frustrated having to wait around for her once again.
‘This sucks dad’ Charlie growled, causing Cillian to calm him down whilst, deep down inside, he hoped that Nadine would arrive soon as he had invited you over for dinner that evening and, the last thing he wanted, was having you and Nadine in the same room together
Until recently, Nadine had again broken court orders, withholding contact to the boys on several occasions. If it wasn’t for the fact that Charlie had his own mobile phone, Cillian wouldn’t have been able to communicate with them at all for weeks.
It was like a game to her. Whenever Cillian was even remotely happy with someone else, she would come out to play and he soon regretted having given her another chance earlier that year before he took the teaching position in London.
When she found out about you, all hell broke loose. She felt humiliated and embarrassed especially knowing that her attempts to get him back were futile.
And the worst of it all was that she knew about you for a very long time, using you as leverage against Cillian until he finally gave up and let you go.
It was that night, when he called you, breaking up with you when he found out that you were his friend’s daughter, that he slipped. He slipped with Nadine because she was there to pick up the pieces when he was at his worst.
Whilst this little hiccup didn’t result in anything more than a few kisses, it was a mistake and he knew that it was a mistake. The worst of it all was that it gave Nadine hope in a situation where there was none. After all, he loved you and not her.
Of course, Nadine was willing and able to use this against Cillian. She had already threatened him on many occasions to make public the many façades of their marriage and how he chose a young girl over the mother of his children.
This was exactly what his agent was worried about. He knew Nadine for many years and he knew about the skeletons in Cillian’s closet and, whilst there weren’t many, they could become quite scandalous.
Being with you and loving you was too difficult. It was an against all the odds type of situation. A twenty-year age gap was hardly going to be successful. Was he going to risk everything to simply give it a try?
***
Finally, at 6 o’clock, Nadine’s car pulled up in Cillian’s driveway and she quickly jumped out of her seat and ran towards the front door.
‘I am sorry I am late. I got caught up with a friend’ she said in a haste.
‘You could have called’ Cillian then said before allowing her inside.
‘Why, do you have a date?’ she then chuckled, causing Cillian to sigh and call out for the boys.
Just as they emerged from their bedrooms, you also pulled up in the driveway and Cillian immediately knew that this would be problematic.
You noticed Nadine’s car but walked towards the front door of the house anyway and Cillian was quick to let you in after giving you a polite kiss on your cheek.
‘Hey’ you said, greeting Nadine who didn’t bother to say anything to you but, instead, roll her eyes.
‘What is she doing here?’ Nadine then asked Cillian, ignoring your presence.
‘I invited her. Why?’ Cillian asked somewhat annoyed and Nadine immediately huffed in disapproval.
‘I don’t want her to spend time with my children. It sends the wrong message to them’ Nadine explained.
‘And what message may that be Nadine?’ Cillian asked rather irritated before Nadine escalated the situation and, once again, insulted you.
‘You think it’s a good idea to show the boys that this is ok? Being with someone that much younger who clearly isn’t compatible in any sort of way?’ Nadine then said before Cillian told the boys to wait in the car as he didn’t want them to hear the conversation between him and their mother.
‘Can you not do this in front of the children?’ Cillian asked angrily after the boys left with their Gameboys.
‘Do what? You are the one who is fucking a uni student, not me’ she then shouted and it soon became too much for you to listen to.
‘Hey, listen, I am going to go. This is awkward and I don’t want to be in the way, really’ you then said, feeling uncomfortable.
‘Wait on Sweetie. I am not finished’ Nadine said and you turned around at the door, rolling your eyes at her as you did.
‘Did he tell you that, when he visited Dublin a few months ago, he spent time with me? Just the two of us?’ Nadine then asked before telling you how she was very well aware of Cillian’s needs and that you were likely too young and inexperienced for him and he would have realised this by now.
‘Nadine, that’s enough!’ Cillian growled, interrupting Nadine as she went on.
‘I am going’ you then huffed out, irritated and upset. She was taking it too far and you didn’t need this in your life.
‘Y/N, hold on’ Cillian said, trying to hold you back but you shook your head and left. You didn’t want to deal with this.
‘Just remember what I have against you Cillian. Surely, if this becomes public, Y/N might get some ideas. Poor thing, so young and innocent. Also, the boys are staying with me for the next two weeks’ Nadine chuckled somewhat amused.
‘Fuck this, Nadine. I have had enough of this crap. Fucking do it, eh! Send it to the fucking paper just as you have threatened for years. I no longer give a shit and in so far as the boys are concerned, I will be in contact with my lawyer tomorrow. A fit and proper person doesn’t use their children as leverage. Fucking wake up, would you’ Cillian growled before storming outside with the boys’ backpacks and putting them into Nadine’s car before giving each of them a hug and saying goodbye to them.
‘Love you guys, see you on Wednesday’ he said with a warm smile before getting into his own car with the view to drive after you to apologise about Nadine’s behaviour and having you get caught up in this.
***
As expected, just before Cillian arrived at your house, he received a call from his agent Brian who was clearly upset and annoyed.
‘We have a problem Cillian’ he said with an almost terrified voice.
‘I know. Her name is Nadine’ Cillian chuckled.
‘I have seen it. Just then. She sent it to me via email’ Brian said concerned.
‘Did you enjoy it?’ Cillian laughed.
‘You need to take this seriously Cillian. Nadine also told me that you are back with the girl’ Brian then said.
‘She held this against me for fucking years and I played along for the boys’ sake, but I can’t keep going like this’ Cillian then explained, causing Brian to sigh.
‘This and the fact that you are with a 20 fucking something year old who also happens to be your friend’s daughter is a fucking disaster mate. You need to break it off’ Brian argued.
‘She is pregnant’ Cillian then said, knowing that this would annoy Brian even more.
‘You are fucking kidding me. Fuck mate. For your career’s sake you need end it with this girl quietly, pay her, get her to sign an NDA’ Brian explained.
‘No Brian, I won’t be doing any of these things. Let me tell you something. I married Nadine because she was pregnant with Charlie. I never loved her. I simply did what others told me was the right fucking thing to do. This is probably why our relationship was so messed up. I was about to do this again, listening to what others tell me is right or wrong and what is good for me. Listening to you, to Nadine, John and my mother. But, luckily, this time, I just came to my fucking senses’ Cillian said just before he pulled up in front of your apartment building.
‘She is twenty years younger than you, what do you think will happen in twenty years? Will she still be around? Will she be worth all this?’ Brian then asked somewhat upset.
‘I don’t know, but I am keen to find out’ Cillian said as turned off the car.
‘This could be career suicide Cillian’ Brian said.
‘Perhaps. So, I suggest that you work hard for your commission while you still can and use these connections of yours to make publication of what Nadine has sent you hurt as little as possible’ Cillian chuckled.
‘It’s a sex tape Cillian. What the fuck do you want me to do about it? Censor it?’ Brian asked.
‘If you do, keep the good parts, eh? I need to go’ Cillian said.

It's Yours - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Javier have been sleeping together for almost two years but after his name was leaked by the papers, he is sent home for investigation. You remain behind with Steve to catch Escobar but when he’s finally dead, you decide to go after the man you’ve fallen for. You don’t like what you find when you finally reunite with him.
Warnings: Angst, Smut, Unplanned Pregnancy 18+
Relationships: Javier Peña x Reader
~
Your nails dig into the strong muscles on his back as he thrusts his hips at a maddening pace, teeth sinking into your shoulder as he chases his release. It was your last night together and you weren’t going to let him go without feeling him one last time and he couldn’t leave without one final taste of you. Pulling his head back his dark, lust-blown, eyes lock with yours and he lets out a primal growl as he feels your walls start to tighten around him.
‘You going to cum for me?’ He asks, in a low tone as he angles his hips so that he’s hitting that toe-curling spot over and over.
‘Yes.’ You moan ‘Fuck.’
You cum hard, screaming his name as tears leak from the corner of your eyes and you pull him right along with you. He collapses beside you, chest heaving as he fights to catch his breath and you chuckle as you roll onto your side to look at him. You both remain silent for a short while, revelling in your post-sex bliss as the sounds of the city drift through the open window.
‘You need to quit smoking.’ You say as you place a loving kiss on his shoulder.
‘I think you may be right Hermosa.’ He replied with a breathy laugh as he turned his head to look at you 'But I don't need to start tonight.' He sniggers as he lights one and takes a long toke, blowing the smoke away from you.
‘What time is your flight tomorrow?’ You ask, smiling sadly at him.
‘A little after 12.’ He replies, turning his head back towards the textured ceiling.
‘Do you need a lift?’
‘Murphy’s driving me.’ He replies coldly, not looking at you as he speaks.
‘Right.’ You roll out of his bed and start to collect your clothes, grabbing his attention.
‘What are you doing?’ He asks, his stomach sinking at the sight of you getting ready to leave.
‘Getting dressed so I can go home.’ You state plainly as you scan the floor for your shirt ‘Isn’t that how it works? We fuck and then go our separate ways?’
‘Can you stay?’ He asks and you look at him in surprise ‘Just for tonight.’ He paused as he gave you a wounded expression ‘Please.'
‘Okay.’
You left early in the morning, taking one last glance at his sleeping form before turning to leave. You knew it was wrong of you to just go, but your heart was aching at the knowledge that he was leaving you and you had to stay behind to finish what he's started. He deserved to see this to the end. Sure he'd made mistakes but he made them for the right reasons. Sometimes you have to do bad things to catch bad people as he would say.
~
One month later…
Staring up at the departures board you see your flight listed just below Murphy’s and you glance at your partner who stood at your side, watching you curiously.
‘What Murphy?’ You grumble as you let out an exasperated huff.
‘You’re going to Texas?’
‘Yes.’
‘Because you felt like a change or because that’s where Javi is?’
‘I have family there. I have a ton of leave to take so decided to visit them.’ You lie, shrugging your shoulders ‘Since my parents died, my aunt and uncle are the only family I have left.’
Murphy looks away guiltily. You’ve fooled him. Good.
'What will you do when you get back to Miami?'
'Hold my wife and daughter.' He states as he smiles at the thought of them 'I've missed out on so much.'
'Connie loves you, Steve. She'll be overjoyed to have you back.' You say sweetly as you give him a genuine smile.
'I hope so.' He replies, giving you a slight nod.
You look at the departures board again and see that your flight's terminal is nowhere near your partners so you turn to Murphy and prepare to say goodbye.
‘It’s been a pleasure Stevo.’ You say with a smile as you hug him tightly.
‘Don’t be a stranger.’ He replies, giving your arm a friendly squeeze.
‘I won’t.’ You give him one last hug and then head your separate ways.
'Say hi to Javi for me.' He shouts over his shoulder and you can't help the smile that crosses your lips.
When you finally reach your gate, you take a seat on one of the thinly padded benches and pull out the address Javier had given you on your last night together.
‘This is where I’ll be.’ He’d told you ‘You know… If you wanted to come to see me.’
You’d chuckled at that and told him you'd consider it... Then you’d left early that morning before he’d even woken up because you hadn't wanted to face saying goodbye to him. You’d regretted that move but knew he wouldn’t have cared, you were just fucking after all.
The flight was long and you weren’t able to sleep a wink, your leg shaking nervously the entire time. They'd served the in-flight meal but you couldn't eat a bite, the smell making your stomach turn. When you heard the captain announce that you would be landing in Laredo airport you feel your pulse quicken, palms starting to sweat as your nerves got the better of you. It was late when you landed, gone 11 pm by the time you made it out of the airport and so you decide that you would find a motel for the night and drive to Javier’s father’s ranch in the morning. You rent a car at the airport and drive around the unfamiliar town until you find a semi-clean looking hotel, the vacancy sign flashing in the dim light of night.
‘That’ll be 100 dollars for the night with breakfast included.’ The lady at the desk states, passing you a key with a large wooden tag attached, 101 carved onto it.
‘Thank you.’ You reply as you give her a genuine smile ‘Is there anywhere around here that’s still open where I can get something to eat? Just had a long flight and the plane food made my stomach roll.’
‘There’s a bar down the street.’ She replies ‘Does the best nachos you’ll ever taste.’
‘Great. Thanks.’
You make your way to your room, dropping off your luggage before heading to the bar the girl had mentioned. It was painted a dark red, a neon sign flashing ‘Open’ hanging in the window and you push open the door and make your way inside. Taking a seat at the bar you raise your hand to grab the barman’s attention, smiling as he approaches you.
‘Not seen you here before.’ He says as he smiles at you and you can’t help but notice how attractive he is.
‘I’m visiting some family.’ You reply ‘I hear the Nachos here are the best around.’
‘You heard right. Can I get you an order of those?’
‘And a beer.’ You finish as you give him a genuine grin and he gives you a wink before going off to give the kitchen your order.
You let your eyes scan the bar. It’s fairly busy for a Wednesday night. Mainly men scattered around the various tables and booths, a few women in small groups giggling as they sip their cocktails and you suddenly feel lonely, but the feeling disappeared when your beer is placed down in front of you.
‘So, how come you’re here alone?’ He asks as he leans against the bar polishing a glass.
‘I only landed an hour or so ago.’ You reply as you sip at your beer ‘Noting it’s a favourite of yours yet you’re finding it bitter.’
‘And is there a boyfriend in the picture?’ He asks and you can’t help but blush.
‘There’s a guy.’ You reply, taking another sip of your bitter beer ‘But he’s not my boyfriend. Not sure what we are if I'm honest. We kinda had a -friends with benefits- situation going on but I fell for him. They never end well eh?’ You chuckle and he responds in kind.
‘Shame.’ He replies as he gives you a cheeky grin ‘Would love you take you out.’
Your nachos arrive and sure enough, they are the best you’ve ever had. You chat to the barman, learning all there is to know about Lurado. You talk for a few hours before you inevitably have to leave.
'If things with that guy don't work. Feel free to call me.' States the barman as he hands you a scrap of paper with his name and number on it.
'I will.' You reply as you suck on your bottom lip.
When you get back to your room for find yourself emptying your stomach. You put it down to being jet-lagged and decide that sleep will help but when you wake up in the morning you find yourself hugging the toilet again, a thin layer of sweat coating your skin as you lean against the tiled wall. You brush your teeth and head down for breakfast but every smell that greets you makes your stomach turn and you soon find yourself sprinting for the toilet again but all you can do is heave, your stomach completely empty now.
‘What the fuck is wrong with me?’ You asked yourself as you rinse your mouth and face with water.
Then your mind starts to go over the facts. Your tastes have changed, smells are making you sick.
‘I can't be… can I?’ You ask yourself as you count back the days since your last cycle and your breath hitches.
You're two weeks late.
You practically sprint out of the motel, remembering that you’d seen a pharmacy down the road. You buy a pack of tests and make your way back to the motel, taking it a little slower as the Texas sun beats down on you. You happen to peer into a diner as you approach it and your heart stops when you see who’s sat by the window, smiling at a woman sat opposite. You stop dead in your tracks. Your heart in your throat, stomach twisting in knots as you watch him laugh at something she says whilst he strokes his thumb over her knuckles and he looks at her the way he used to look at you. A server comes to speak to the woman he’s with and he looks up and out of the window, his eyes then locking with yours. You don’t realise your crying but he can see it and his brows furrow as he tilts his head slightly. You can’t look at him a moment longer. You have bigger things to worry about and so you will your legs to move, practically sprinting down the sidewalk to get away.
‘Hermosa?’
You stop dead in your tracks but you don’t turn to face him. You’re shoulders shake as your sobs wrack your exhausted body.
‘What are you doing here?’ He asks and this makes you turn to face him.
‘Seriously?’ You spit, eyes red with tears ‘You should get back to your date Javier.’
‘Hermosa wait.’
‘Don’t you dare call me that!’ You growl ‘You don’t get to call me that. Not now.’
'You left me.' He states and you feel your anger explode.
Without another work you storm towards the motel, stopping by the front desk and asking if you’re able to extend your stay another night. You pay her and sprint back up to the room, pulling out the tests and heading into the bathroom. You're angry because he's right. You did leave him but as you look down at the box of tests in your hands you decide that this is more important right now. You need to know. So you follow the instructions and you pee on two of them, deciding that it's better to be safe than sorry and you place them facing down beside the sink, watching the minutes tick away on the clock opposite the bathroom door. You wait the five minutes it states on the box and turn to look at them, your hands shaking as you close your eyes and flip them over. Taking a deep breath you crack your eyes open and let out a sob at what you see.
Both of them are positive.
A million and one thoughts go through your head. You’re panicking as you think about what to do. Do you tell him? It’s his after all. You’d not been with anyone since he’d left. You sit there and stare at the tests, allowing your mind to think about the future. You growing round with Javier’s baby and you feel a small smile tugging at the corner of your lips. What if he doesn't want it? What if he's serious with that woman? You don't want to be a homewrecker. Do you want to keep it? Are you ready to be a mum? You ponder all of these things for a long while as you stare and the two sticks of plastic in your hands. Yes. Yes, you are ready.
‘I’ll tell him.’ You say to the tiny being inside you ‘If he doesn’t want anything to do with you then that’s fine. We’ll be okay on our own.’ You pause as rest your hand on your stomach 'He's a good man your dad but he's complicated. Never one for settling down yet despite us not being an official couple he remained faithful to me for two years and I was to him.'
You shower and brush your teeth, needing to remove all evidence of your rough morning and head out a little after midday. Hopping into your rental car you pull the address out of your pocket, fingers brushing against the positive test you’d decided to bring and causing your heart to skip a beat. You sat there for a moment and imagined what they might look like. Would they have his expressive brown eyes and golden skin tone? Or would they have yours? Shaking your head you start up the car and pull out of the parking lot, following the signs for the area stated on the slip of paper on your lap. His father’s ranch is surprisingly easy to find. It sits a few miles outside of town and you feel your heart race as you make your way down the dusty drive. The house is a decent size. It's well kept with one large truck parked out front. To the left are some stables, two horses grazing in the field beside it and the nicker and whinny when they see you hop out of your car and head towards the house. You let out a shaky breath as pluck up the courage to knock on the door, your stomach doing somersaults as an older man answers and studies you for a moment before he speaks.
‘Can I help you?’ He asks, his accent much like Javier's Must be his father You think to yourself.
‘I’m looking for Javier Peña. Is her here?’ You asked, your voice shaking as you speak.
‘He’s up by the river mending fences.' The man states 'Follow that track up... You can't miss him.’ He states and you nod your thanks before getting back in your car.
'You're her aren't you?' He asks, stopping you dead 'He mentioned that he'd seen his partner from Columbia in town this morning. Also mentioned it wasn't a pleasant reunion.' You turn to look at him as he sizes you up 'He was broken when he left to fix those fences. You best not be going up there to break him more.'
'That's not my intention.' You state and he nods before heading back inside.
You get back into your car and make your way down the road you were told to follow and sure enough, you see Javier. He's adorning the same shirt he’d been wearing this morning, his signature yellow aviators tight jeans. He looks up when he hears the sound of tires on gravel and watches as you exit your car. His eyes follow you as you step towards him, gaze locked to his. He removes his shades as if he can’t believe what he’s seeing and you finally you come to a stop opposite him, your heart thundering so hard you’re sure he can hear it.
‘What are you doing here?’ He asks coldly with a stoic expression.
Your mouth moves but no words leave your lips. You think long and hard for a few moments about what to say to him but decide to cut straight to the chase. You need to get it out there.
‘I’m pregnant Javier.’ You state plainly as you pull out the positive test from your pocket ‘I'm pregnant and it’s yours.’

Trouble, Trouble (Part 1) | Javier Peña x reader
Summary: You’re Steve’s little sister and show up to Columbia for a visit. You catch a certain DEA agent’s eye.
A/N: soooo I thought I would try my hand at writing for Javier Peña. My Spanish is not very good. I’ve only had Spanish in high school and know the basics. I wish I could become fluent in Spanish but not quite sure where to start. Anyways, so there may not be many Spanish in the dialogue and if there is, it will probably be from google translate.
I wrote this and thought I would post it as a part one to see what everyone thought. I also wouldn’t mind if people had some requests for Javier to practice. So, leave a comment and tell me what you guys think! Let me know if you want to be added to the tag list.
ALSO CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO ADD THE ACCENT OVER THE N ON TUMBLR BECAUSE WHAT I USE FOR WORD DOC DOESN’T WORK ON HERE :(
Tag list is at the end. Let me know if you want to be added xx

You stepped out of the airport and was instantly hit with that Columbian heat. You’d traveled from your home in Miami to come visit your brother and his new adoptive baby. He’d warned you about the dangers of Columbia, but you hadn’t listened and went against his wishes. You wanted to see your new niece and spend some time with him and Connie. They were the only family you had left, and you missed them.
Slipping on your sunglasses you grabbed a taxi and gave him the address of Steve’s place. You tried to relax in the back and gather your surroundings, but everything was new to you, you’d have to have Steve teach you all the streets and places to be. When the taxi arrived at Steve’s, you paid and headed up the stairs and pressed the button to be beeped in.
 “Hello?”
 “Connie, it’s me.”
There was silence for a moment, “Oh my gosh, y/n!” Then a buzzer went off and you entered the building and headed upstairs.
Connie opened the door with a wide grin on her face, “What the hell are you doing here!” She crashed into you with a hug.
You laughed, “I’m here to see my new niece of course!”
“Oh, Steve is going to be pissed.”
She giggles and shows you inside, “He told me that he spoke to you the other day and that you “were forbidden to fly down here.” She says the last part in a deep voice, mimicking Steve’s.
You laugh and set your luggage down, “Well, when have I ever listened to a word my brother says?” You gave a squeal of excitement when you saw Olivia, “Oh Connie, she’s beautiful...”
You coo’d at the little girl in Connie’s arms and she happily handed her over, “It was a horrible story, but I’m grateful we were able to give her a home.”
“Steve told me.. It’s horrible but she’s in such a loving home now.” You ran a finger over her cheek and she reached for your finger.
“Steve should be home any minute now.”
Connie plops down on the couch and you stay standing, swaying with the baby in your arms. “How’s he handling everything down here? I’m sure it’s rough.”
She sighs and gives a nod, “I worry about him, but he seems to be taking it better than expected. Escobar will be the death of him. It’s like they get so close, but Pablo is two steps ahead and already out the door. I know it’s frustrating.”
“Oh, I’m sure.” You kiss Olivia’s head, “Well, I’m-“ You were interrupted by the door opening.
Steve was talking to someone as he walked in and wasn’t paying too much attention until he got closer to the living room.
“Aren’t you going to acknowledge your little sister?” You smirked.
Steve’s head shot up toward you and his eyes went wide, “y/n? What the hell are you doing here!”
Javier peeked around Steve to catch a look at you and his eyes widened at the sight. You were beautiful, “Little sister?” Steve never mention having a little sister.
“I had to come see my niece.” You kissed Olivia’s head and took notice of the man behind Steve, “Who’s your friend, Steve?”
Steve glanced at Javier and hit him in the arm when he saw the googly eyes he was giving you, “She’s off limits.” He snaps before coming to you and giving you a hug.
“I’m a grown woman thank you very much.” You eyed the man again, “Y/n Murphy.” You held your hand to him.
Javier took your hand in his and pressed a soft kiss to the back of your hand, “hermosa.” He whispers against your skin and then straightens, not letting go of your hand, “Javier Peña, it´s a pleasure.”
“Alright, enough.” Steve mutters and Javier finally drops your hand, “Like I said, she’s my little sister, Peña. She’s not one of your slutty informants.”
“So protective.” You roll your eyes and hand Olivia to him and take a seat next to Connie.
“Now what the hell are you doing here? Thought I told you NOT to come here?” Steve says taking a seat.
Javier followed and took another seat nearby.
You shrug, “Wanted to see you guys. You know you’re the only family I have and I miss you guys.”
Steve sighs, “You’re just someone else I have to worry about.” He mutters, “Columbia isn’t the place for you to be.”
“I can handle my own, Steve. I was taught by the best, remember?” You tease. He’d trained you in self defense before he’d left for Columbia, knowing you’d be on your own.
“I mean I can keep an eye on her if you’re so worried about her.” Javier offers innocently.
Steve gives him a look and Javier holds his hands up in defense, “I’m just offering.” He stands, “I’ll let you guys catch up.”
“See you tomorrow Peña.” Steve bids goodbye.
“Bye Javier! It was nice to meet you.” You call out after him.
He gives you a nod and a quick wink before closing the door behind him.
“She needs her diaper changed.” Steve scrunches his nose and stands about to hand her to Connie.
“Oh no, it’s your turn.” Connie laughs.
Steve rolls his eyes and walks to the nursery.
You wait until he’s out of earshot before turning to Connie, “Okay, what is up with the hottie?”
“Javier?” Connie laughs.
You nod, “I mean.. holy he’s a beautiful man.”
She shakes her head, “Steve would never allow it.” She stands, “You want a drink?”
You nod and follow her, “He wouldn’t have to know.” You groan, “Connie he was so hot.”
“And he’s a playboy. He’s not a guy you want to get caught up with.” Connie warns, “He’s also not a relationship type.”
“I could have a little fling.” You take the glass of wine from her and take a sip.
“Your brother would kill Javier for touching you. I thought he was going to kill him earlier for the little flirty stunt he pulled.”
Your mind wandered to Javier. You could have a fling to get your mind off what happened in Miami. It was the reason you were here now.
“You’re only staying for a little bit, so why start something?”
“Yeah..” you mutter, taking another sip of your wine. You didn’t want to tell her the truth. You had no plans to go back to Miami. Not after what happened. It was probably a mistake to even come out to Columbia, but you didn’t know where else to go. You were in trouble and needed help. How were you going to tell your brother you’d made enemies with a member of a drug cartel?

Word Count: 2,542

Authors note: Hi everyone! First of all I just want to say thank you to everyone who requested something! I am trying to work on them but I recently fell into a really bad place mentally but I’m working on making it better. I hope to have the other requests out soon but please be patient with me. Also anon I used they/them pronouns for the reader as those are my pronouns and I want to make sure everyone can I enjoy my writing regardless of gender so I hope that okay.  As always thank you for reading and I hope you have a good day/night! :) <3 (Also any feedback is very appreciated. )
First day of senior year. To say you weren’t excited would be the understatement of the century. Sure you were excited to finally get out of your hometown but you had to get through the school year first and if the previous years were any indication of how this year was going to go, well lets just say it's going to be a long year.
You pulled into the student parking lot in your shitty car and saw there were a couple extra minutes before you actually had to be in the building, With that in mind you decided to just put your head down  on the steering wheel for a few minutes to prepare yourself for the day ahead.
That peace was short lived though because not even  30 seconds later did a dark truck pulled up next to you. Before the car could even come to a stop Zoe Murphy flew out of the passenger seat. She flipped off the driver, who you presumed was her brother Connor, and slammed the door before storming off into the school. “Jesus” you mutter  to yourself. Then another door slammed and Connor Murphy appeared in front of the truck, talking and gesturing wildly to himself. You could only make out bits and pieces of what the boy was saying before he went into the school like his sister. You heard him say something about his mom and his bitch sister and not even wanting to be there. Well at least you weren't alone in the feeling. Following the Murphy siblings you begrudgingly went into the building. The friendly secretary greated you and handed you your schedule which had your locker number on it. After searching for a few minutes you found it and just as you were starting to put things in your locker  you heard his voice, Jared Klienman. He was talking to Evan Hansen and you prayed to whatever higher being that could hear you that he would leave you alone. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
“Well, well, well if it isn’t L/N.” You could practically hear the shit-eating grin he had on his stupid face. You were about to turn around and tell him to go away but before you could someone comes between the two of you blocking Jared from your view.
“Fuck off Klienman” says the last person you expected, Connor Murphy.
“Woah calm down Murphy, I’m just trying to have a conversation with Y/N here” Jared says starting to back up and putting his arms up as a way of showing his surrender.
“Well they obviously don’t want to talk to you. Now get out of here before I punch that stupid smirk off your dumb face,” Connor says squaring off his shoulders in an attempt to look even more intimidating than usual. It worked quite well because Jared was practically running off but not before making a dig at Connor.
“Yeah whatever you fucking freak.”
You saw Connor’s shoulders tense and his hands clenched into fists. You didn’t know what to do but figured it would be best to leave the boy alone, so you just fidgeted with your hands. He took a deep breath then turned to face you.
“Uhm thanks for that. You really didn’t have to,” you say avoiding eye contact with him, which was quite easy considering how tall he was compared to you.
“No problem, I know how much of a dick Klienman can be.”
“Yeah he’s the worst,” you say scoffing lightly. Then the bell signaling you were supposed to be in homeroom rang.“See you around Connor. Thanks again,” you say before turning to shut your locker and rush to class.
“Yeah see you around,” Connor says to no one because you were already down the hall.
The rest of the day wasn’t much better, nothing happened in particular but it just still wasn’t the best. After what felt like an eternity it was finally the last bell of the day, creative writing. You weren’t particularly interested in writing but you had a bell to fill so you figured why not. When you walked in you did a scan of the room and saw Connor, he had an empty seat next to him at the back of the room so you decided to sit it in. “Hey,” you say, startling the boy who was previously staring into space.
“Oh hey.”
“Thanks again for this morning, I really appreciate it dude,” you say making eye contact with Connor so he would know you actually meant what you were saying.
“Oh yeah, it was nothing. Don’t worry about it,” he says, giving you a small smile. You smiled back just as your teacher walked in which caused the conversation to end.
“Good afternoon class! I hope all of your days have been tolerable,” says your teacher Mr. Davidson. He was a younger man in his early 30’s which meant everyone liked him including you.  “Instead of doing an ice breaker where you all lie about how interesting your summers were I want you to get to actually get to know someone in this class a little better,” he says from behind his podium at the front of the class. You were starting to panic a little, who were you going to partner up with? None of your kind of friends were in this class!  Then Connor cleared his throat grabbing your attention.
“Hey Y/N, wanna be partners?” The nervous energy was practically radiating off the boy. You breathed a sigh of relief.
“Sure Connor.” The two of you then got up and turned your desks to face each other like the other pairs were doing. “So Murphy what’s your deepest darkest secret?” you say, smirking.
“Woah L/N, not even going to ask me my favorite color or anything?” he says chuckling.
“Okay, okay, fine,” you say playfully rolling your eyes. “What’s your favorite color Connor?”
“Dark green. What about you L/N? What's your favorite color?”
“Y/F/C,” you say. “It’s been my favorite since I was younger,” you say shrugging.
“I respect that. It’s a good color.”
“Yeah whatever, now can I hear your deepest secret?”, you say almost like a child.
“Wow you’re still on this?”, he says with amusement evident in his tone.
“Yeah I am!” you say in a mock seriousness. “Mr. Davidson says we are supposed to actually get to know each other and that’s what I’m trying to do Murphy!”
“You’re absolutely right Y/N,” he says suddenly very serious.
“Okay fine I’ll tell you but you have to swear you won’t tell anyone.
“Not a soul,” you say staring at him intently and sitting at the edge of your seat.
“Well, here goes nothing.” He made eye contact and it felt as if he was staring into your soul. “I’m pregnant.”
You maintained eye contact until you actually processed what he said, then the two of you started laughing which caused the rest of the class to turn and look at you but for once you didn’t even care because you were actually happy for the first time in what felt like forever.
The rest of the class went by faster than you or Connor wanted it to, but the two of you walked out to the student parking lot together and paused when you reached your cars. “Uh see you tomorrow I guess,” you say but it comes out as more of a question.
“Yeah see you tomorrow Y/N”, Connor says very confidently which surprised you both. You waved as a final goodbye and got into your cars. As you were driving home you thought about all the awful things you heard about Connor in the past and how untrue they were. Sure he was intimidating at first glance but he’s six feet tall for goodness sake who wouldn’t be intimidated by that. You could tell from the short  class period you spent getting to know him that he was simply misunderstood.  Suddenly you were glad you never listened to what all the popular kids said about Connor.
As the school year went on you and Connor developed a sort of unspoken ritual, you would wait for Connor to get to school then you two would walk to homeroom together and then walk to your cars when the school day was over. The two of you became good friends and you found yourself actually looking forward to waking up in the morning so you could see him. The pair of you  had hung out outside of school a few times and you had actually met Connor’s mom, granted it was an accident but it still happened.
You and Connor decided to hang out at his house because his family wasn’t home that afternoon, the two of you were lounging on the couch watching some weird movie when you heard the front door open. “Connor dear? Is that you in there?” Suddenly an middle aged woman with red hair appeared with reusable grocery bags in her hands.
“Mom?!” Connor jumped up from the couch in a panic. “I thought you had yoga today?!”
“Class was canceled because Cindy wasn’t feeling well. Oh I stopped by the store and  got those  snacks you asked for!” she said coming into the living room box in hand. “Oh? Connor, who's your friend?” she said with a small smile appearing on her lips.
“Hi Mrs. Murphy. I’m Y/N,” you said nervously.
“Oh call me Cynthia dear,” she said, shooting you a smile.
After that Cynthia invited you to stay for dinner but you already had plans with your parents that night. She invited you a couple times after that as well. You never actually went cause Connor didn’t want you to but still it was nice to know she liked you enough to invite you to dinner.
As fall came to a close the two of you  became attached at the hip, constantly talking to one another whether it was in person or through the phone. Once the holiday season rolled around you guys got each other gifts. You got Connor a signed book from his favorite author and he got you a vinyl you had been wanting for a while.
Once the holiday break was over the end of the first semester came quickly and you couldn’t wait to finally be done with your half year courses and start the new ones. Unfortunately you had to take finals before you could be done. Although you only had two finals you were still extremely stressed out. Sure they were easy classes but the teachers were notorious for giving impossible finals. You spent the few days before the finals studying whenever there was a free moment. Connor knew you were stressed so he helped you the best he could. He offered to have study sessions even though none of his classes had finals, he went over quizlets on video calls, and he even brought you a drink with way too much caffeine on the mornings he knew you didn’t sleep.
Once the day arrived he texted you good luck. You went into the first test and totally nailed it. Before the next testing time there was a break and when you checked your phone you saw Connor had texted you telling you how proud he was of you for studying so hard and reassuring you that you had these exams in the bag. You sent him a quick “thank you :))” and went into the testing room for the second time. This exam was a little harder than the last but you still thought you did decent. There were a couple times where Connor and his stupid mneumonic devices actually came in handy. Letting out a giant breath of relief as you stepped out of the testing room you couldn’t wait to tell Connor about how much he helped. When you reached your locker and got your phone out of it you saw Connor had asked if you wanted to hang out when you were done. Obviously you said yes and told him to pick you up at your house in 15. You drove home and changed out of your testing outfit which was just sweatpants and a hoodie and put on something a little more presentable. Sure you were just going to hang out with your best friend but he also is the boy you’ve been pining over for months. You’ve always found Connor attractive and when he put dickhead Klienman in his place that made him all the more hot. But then you really got to know him and you fell. Hard.  He was sweet, caring, smart, and funny. Sure he had his moments but so did everyone on the planet. He had actually opened up to you about his struggles with his mental health and you did everything you could to support him. You encouraged him to ask his parents for therapy, and always made sure he took his meds in the morning. You were there for him and he was always there for you.
You were pulled out of your thoughts when you heard the horn of Connor’s truck outside your house. You rushed outside and got into the passenger seat, “So where to Murphy?”
“I was thinking we could get some food and just chill in a parking lot somewhere. Sound cool?”
“Definitely. I’ve missed hanging out with you. Stupid finals,” you say with a dramatic eye roll.
“Yeah I’ve missed hanging out with you too dork,” he says reaching over the center console and ruffling your hair.
“Connor Murphy! I just brushed my hair and here you go messing it up!” you say while trying to fix your now disbelieved hair.
“Whatever L/N. It still looks fine to me.”  Although it was barely a compliment, heat still rushed to your cheeks. He pulled out of your driveway and the two of you were off. On the way to get food you guys caught up talking about everything you missed in the world of Connor because you were too focused on finals. He told you he finished a TV show you recommend and loved it.  You made it to the drive through and Connor ordered, already knowing what you wanted from your many midnight outings. Once you got your food you made your way to the plaza parking lot where the restaurant was located. For the first couple minutes the two of you sat in a comfortable silence listening to the playlist Connor had made for this type of occasion. After a few minutes Connor suddenly spoke, “Can I tell you something?”
“Connor dearest you know you can tell me anything,” you say with a french fry in your mouth, not even bothering to look at him.
“I like you.” You choked on the fry you had in your mouth.
“Pardon?” you say through a cough.
“I said I like you,” he says, a little less sure of himself. When you looked over at Connor you saw he was staring straight ahead.
“Hey Connor.”
“Mhm,” he says, not daring to move.
“Look at me.” He just barely turned his head towards you. “I like you too idiot.”

We’ll Be Fine
Pairing: Tatum Mendoza x f!MC
Word count: 1.2k
Summary: Basically after Tatum said goodbye to MC and debriefed Demarco.
A/N: Okay, so bear with me. I haven’t wrote a fanfic in YEARS. But I am in my feels as I finished watching The Witcher and PB basically confirmed Foreign Affairs as a standalone and I am left with so many questions. So I opened my laptop and started writing. I’m sorry if it’s bad, but I needed to get it off my chest lmao. If there are any (grammatical) mistakes, I’m sorry! English is not my first language. :|
______________________________________________________________
‘’I don’t want you to lose her out of your sight for one second, do you understand, Demarco?’’ The bodyguard came out of trance when his boss talked to him directly. The news of Tatum getting his desired promotion was good news for him but bad news for the team. Demarco cleared his throat once and then once again. ‘’Yeah of course, boss. I will never let an attack happen again, you have my word’’ Tatum seemed a little bit more relieved at that statement and yet, Demarco couldn’t shake the feeling that his boss wasn’t as happy as he should’ve been a month ago with a promotion this big. Back then his transfer request was all he could ever talk about. He remembered him saying how much he wanted to go back to the army. How he felt that his hard work in the force seemed to be in vain. Now he had puffy eyes and a sadness that seemed to match in them. He knew the First Daughter and Tatum used to be best friends. Hell, they even grew up together. Former bodyguards told jokingly the two were inseparable and a pain to guard. It would not be impossible for the both of them to develop feelings. Demarco thought of his husband back in Rutherland and how he hated to leave him behind. What if Tatum felt exactly like that?
‘’Boss, I apologize if I am out of line saying this, but for someone who gets the promotion of a lifetime you seem to be dreading it’’
Tatum clenched his jaw tightly and awkwardly put his hands forcefully in his pocket.
‘’I will celebrate my transfer whenever the time is right. I just want you to promise me to keep her safe now, Winston told me my replacement will arrive tomorrow but I will not trust them to keep her protected. I trust you, do you copy?’’
Tatum’s voice became even more stern. Demarco nodded. ‘’You know I will, boss. I also hope you know that everything you say, I will treat with the utmost discretion.’’ His boss acknowledged that in silence. Yet the sadness didn’t seem to be fade. In fact, it became more visible.
They stood in silence for a while until to Demarco’s surprise Tatum spoke. ‘’A month ago, this promotion was all I could hoped for. But now… Now all I can think of is how I’m leaving her again for the same reason as five years ago. I don’t want us to grow apart again to only see her on the news and magazines with that fake smile on her face’’ A small tear escaped the corner of his eye but Tatum wiped it away as quick as he could ‘’So why did you accept it? You’re not at all excited to leave and you know we love our job with you as our boss’’ Demarco felt nothing but sympathy for the man in front of him. He never saw him so.. devasted. ‘’She told me to. I thought that if she would tell me to stay I would refuse the promotion because she would need me. It is foolish to think that someone like her would need someone like me, huh?’’ For the first time since the debrief, Tatum looked Demarco in the eye and all he saw was the storm raging inside Tatum. ‘’Someone like her would be happy with someone like you though, boss. You’re more than just her bodyguard’’ Tatum scoffed. ‘’No, Demarco. When she was on the fake date with Alexei and having fun, that was when it hit me. That’s how her love life should look like. With someone that Rutherland and everyone that means a damn would approve. I am a nobody while she is everything. I wouldn’t be good enough for her like Alexei would be. Or even Blaine Hayes.’’ Demarco laughed joyless. ‘’Trust me, boss. No one in Ardona can compare to you.’’ For the first time ever since Tatum came into the room he smiled, albeit a sad one. ‘’Thank you, Demarco. It has been a pleasure to work with you, I will never forget your jokes and banter’’ Demarco was surprised when Tatum gave him a hug and he didn’t know who could use the hug more, but judging by the quiet sniffles it was his now former boss. ‘’Don’t you worry, Tatum. I will give my life for her if I need to’’ Tatum nodded as he got himself out of the hug. ‘’I hope it won’t come to that. And a word of advice; as much as she insists that all the protocols are bullshit, stick with them. If her mom upsets her, and that will happen, take a walk with her. Listen to her. If she misses her dad, let her vent. And if someone hurts her mentally-‘’ ‘’They will never find the body’’ Demarco joked. ‘’Excellent’’ A real smile came across Tatums face, but it faded as soon as it appeared. He picked up his duffle bag and walked towards the door and just before he reached the door, he turned around and looked around the room as if he saw it for the first time. ‘’This must have been a blessing in disguise. The last few weeks must have been one of the best in my career’’ Demarco nodded and gave Tatum a final wave as he walked to the car that have been waiting for him. He walked to the couch and stared into nothingness until Presley gave him a heads up that his shift was about to start.
It felt weird walking to the suite knowing that he was no longer under Tatum’s orders. Murphy gave him a nod. ‘’Quiet night, Murph?’’ The silent bodyguard gave him once again a sign of confirment with his head. ‘’Alright. I’m gonna go inside to see how my favourite First Daughter is doing. After that, I will have to tell you the story about when my husband started almost started a riot during a football game’’ He walked into the suite and knocked on the door he was familiar with.
He opened the door after her soft voice invited him in. The room was only brightened by the table lamp on her desk. Her pet lynx was cuddled in her arms as she was laying in her bed, staring to nothing in particular. The expression on her face matched Tatum’s perfectly. He wanted to tell her how both of them were idiots and that they should confess their feelings to each other. He wanted to yell that she should go after Tatum but he didn’t want to make her feel even worse than she already felt. ‘’I just want you to know that Presley has finished her shift and I will be outside’’ Tears were flowing onto her pillow but she didn’t make any movement to hide them. In fact, she didn’t move at all. ‘’Okay, miss. If you need me, I am just outside’’ With a heavy heart he walked out of the door and closed it. When he got outside, he found Murphy eagerly waiting for him to start this story about his husband. ‘’Okay, Murph. It went like this-‘’

[A/N: how are my Pedro simps doing? here’s another chapter, ya thirsty fuckers]
CHAPTER ONE // Previous Chapter // Masterlist // Next Chapter
warnings: cursing, protected sex, javi is a simp; DIALOGUE IN CURSIVE IS IN SPANISH (my Spanish is not as good as my French sorry)
Tumblr media
‘Miss Y/L/N,’ Javier called after the woman as she was about to get inside the president’s car. ‘I, uh— I’m sorry if I offended you.’
Y/N looked perplexed, but a smile crept onto her face. ‘You did not, Agent Peña. I’m used to being overlooked in serious circles given my occupation and sex.’
‘No, I didn’t mean—‘
‘It’s alright, Agent Peña. I know you didn’t mean any harm. But I’m putting my life on the line for the greater good. I hope you can appreciate that.’
She bid him goodbye and the president’s chauffeur opened the car door for her. Javier remained in his place, feeling — for the first time in probably forever — absolutely fucking idiotic.
+++
Javier walked back in his and Steve’s office and gracelessly fell in his chair, drawing the old cigarette from its place in the ashtray and lighting it up again. He let the smoke enter his body and held it the for a second before releasing it. He rubbed his temple with his left hand and looked at the paperwork in front of him.
Steve was going through his copies of the files on Rivera and he was talking, but Javier wasn’t listening. He was thinking about a certain pair of pretty eyes that seemed to look at him with something akin to disappointment. Steve seemed to notice that his friend wasn’t paying attention to what he was saying and sighed. He put the folder down and clapped his hands loudly in front of Peña’s face.
‘Hey, fuck you, man!’ Javier exclaimed, trying to cover up the fact that he got startled.
‘Are you going to act all hung up on every pretty woman that gets somehow involved in this case.’
‘I ain’t hung up on her,’ Javier replied defensively. ‘What were you saying? I’m all ears.’
‘I was saying that while you were running after Miss Y/L/N, Messina said she wants us at theatre tomorrow to check out if Rivera will appear. The Ambassador allowed it. We wouldn’t get involved in any way, but go in purely for reconnaissance.’
‘What if the fucker doesn’t show up tomorrow? You wanna grab a pair of sleeping bags and move into the theatre?’
‘Miss Y/L/N seemed adamant that he visits her during rehearsals every day,’ Steve contested. ‘When have you objected to a dull mission. All we gotta do is sit somewhere with a good view and see if Rivera comes in.’
Javier sighed. At least doing something was better than their current state of warming their office chairs and waiting on any sort of news on Escobar or his people. Their whole job was grasping at straws and hoping they’d hold out.
‘When do the rehearsals start then?’ he asked.
Murphy looked over a piece of paper that Messina had given him, ‘Let’s see... Morning through early afternoon is choir rehearsal, then they go into a break. Y/N has a solo rehearsal from then until 7PM. She’s told Messina that Rivera goes to visit around that time.’
‘Okay then,’ Javier finished his cigarette and put it back in the ashtray. ‘Anything else we need to get done for the day?’
‘Nah, this is the only thing,’ Steve closed the folder and left it on top of his pile. He stood up and stretched. ‘Come on, we gotta pick up Connie from work.’
Javier gave his partner a confused look to which Steve rolled his eyes, ‘Thursday.’
‘Oh, fuck! Yeah,’ Javier slapped his thigh.
‘Don’t tell me you got other plans. Connie will have my head and then yours.’
‘No, I just forgot.’ Javier got up form his seat and grabbed his brown jacket. ‘Let’s go, asshole. I need a drink.’
‘Oh, because you wanna forget about your tiny cwush on the pwetty lady?’ Steve joked.
‘Fuck off, man.’
+++
The small diner where Javier, Steve and Connie went on some Thursdays was mostly empty. There rarely were more than fifteen people at all times; the place was peaceful which made it perfect for the three. The diner had an inside garden where most of the wooden tables were located; each had a white table cloth and a candle lantern in the middle so the patrons could see each other and their meal. The music that usually sounded over the crappy speakers was from some local radio that played Spanish ballads. The place really was a small piece of heaven, away form the noise and troubles of the city.
A waiter brought the company their drinks: a gin tonic for Connie and two beers for Steve and Javier.
‘So this singer can help you get to… Escobar?’ Connie whispered the name as to avoid any eavesdroppers. ‘Doesn’t that put her in danger?’
‘It does, but the president and our government expect us to give her the protection needed,’ Steve explained to his wife.
‘And she won’t get us to Escobar.’ Javier took a large gulp from his beer. ‘She’ll get us to a guy who’s close to him, but then it all depends on the guy actually spilling the beans.’
‘Also Javier won’t let Y/N be in imminent danger,’ Steve grinned.
‘Ohhh,’ Connie’s interest seemed instantly piqued, ‘do you like her, Javier?’
‘Shut the fuck up both of you,’ Peña tried to concealed his fluster by taking another large sip.
‘Oh, he was ogling her like you wouldn’t believe it,’ Steve continued. ‘He did act like a bit of a dick in front of her.’
‘Oh no!’ Connie feigned horror.
‘But then he ran after her to apologise and be a gentleman or something. Swear to fucking god, it was like one of those telenovelas!’
‘Will you two just cut it off?’
‘Javier,’ Connie began, ‘it’s alright if you like her. Just because you keep a front of being a tough ol’ nut, doesn’t mean you can’t be soft from time to time. I’ve seen you with Olivia. You’re a big softie.’
‘I’m not—’ Javier groaned, ‘no, I don’t- I’m not attracted to Y/N. I just think she has… nice eyes.’
‘Eyes?’ The Murphy's repeated incredulously.
‘Yeah, now can we talk about something else?’
‘Oh, this is so Pride and Prejudice!’ Connie laughed.
Javier and Steve looked at her in confusion. Steve asked first, ’Pride and Prejudice?’
‘You know, like… when Mr Darcy first met Lizzie Bennet he thought she had nice eyes.’ Connie smiled at Javier. ‘You’re a Mr Darcy.’
Javier seemed just as confused as he was before Connie’s “explanation”. He didn’t get what Pride and Prejudice was nor what this Mr Darcy had to do with him.
‘It’s a book.’ Connie rolled her eyes. ‘You two need to get some culture in ya, stat. Maybe it’s a good thing that you’ll be around an opera singer for a while. She might do you some good. Especially you, Javi.’
Javier groaned and slammed his head on the table. Steve laughed.
‘Just change the subject, please.’ Javier lifted his head so the incoming waiter could place his order in front of him. ‘How’s the little traitor?’
Connie went into a full tirade about how Olivia had started sleeping through most of the nights and was crying less and less which meant that both her and Steve could get more sleep themselves. Javier remembered the first couple of weeks after his friend had taken the baby in. The first morning after, Steve looked like someone had ran him over with a bus and he’d claimed to be feeling just like that.
They ate and talked and time slipped through like knife through soft butter. When it came time to say goodbye for the evening, Javier thanked Connie and Steve for the nice outing but declined their offer for a lift home. He was feeling restless and wanted to go somewhere else. He assured Steve he’d see him the morning at work and the two shook hands. Connie opted to give Peña a hug.
Javier put his hands in his pockets and walked down the street, passing by people who were enjoying the warm evening. There was music, sounds go passing cars and people talking or yelling. Javier tuned them out and continued walking in the direction of… something. He felt odd. He still felt bad about insulting Y/N, especially since she really was doing a huge sacrifice by offering to help them catch Rivera.
‘I’m putting my life on the line for the greater good. I hope you can appreciate that.’
And he did! He really did! She had a fucking pair for doing something like that, because if anything failed and Rivera learned that she rat him out to the government… Javier tried to ignore the weird feeling in his gut and the tightening in his throat at the thought. Escobar and people around him didn’t care for human life. They’d shown as much. And Javier had already failed one informant, he didn’t want to risk this one, too.
His feet had taken him to one of the local brothels he’d visited once or twice. ‘Why not?’ Javier thought to himself. Get a girl for the evening and fuck that anxiousness out of himself.
Javier walked in, met with Madame and asked for one of the girls. Didn’t matter which one. The elder woman smiled at him slyly and led him to a room where most of the prostitutes were lounging. She gave them a quick order in Spanish and they lined up, each of them ogling the handsome man that had just walked in. Madame asked Javier which one he liked best and he gave them all a once over until his eyes stopped on one that wore a short red sequinned dress and a pair of stilettos. She gladly grabbed him by the hand and showed him to a separate room.
Javier was quick to strip the dress off of her body, earning a gasp from the woman. She was naked underneath and Javier felt his dick grow a little bit harder seeing her toned body. She grinned and planted a sloppy kiss on his mouth, her tongue shamelessly licked inside Javier’s mouth. He in return let his hands wander from her arms to her thighs and by giving themsqueeze, the woman jumped and wrapped her legs around his waist. Her pussy rubbed just above Javier’s crotched cock which elicited a low grunt from the man.
Javier dropped her on the bed, without breaking contact between his mouth and hers. She removed the jacket from his shoulders and started working on the buttons of the shirt underneath. Javier helped her out by shrugging the piece of clothing off his body and working to undo his belt.
The woman stopped him and told him to lie down. They switched positions; she seductively began unbuckling Javier’s belt, then unbuttoned his jeans and slowly worked them down his legs. He toed off his shoes and socks and pushed himself up on his elbows to look down at the prostitute that was now wrapping her long, slender fingers around his cock. Javier let out a long, strangled moan and let his head fall back down on the bed. She gave his shaft a couple of experienced pumps, spitting on it to make it slicker. She moved her hand fast, up and down, up and down. When she was happy with the sounds her client was making, she wrapped her lips around the head of his cock and slowly took him in until he had half of him inside her mouth. Her hand moved up to meet her lips in the middle and she continued like that: mouth moving down to bump against her hand which was pumping the base of Javier’s cock. He could feel her tongue press flat against the underside and the tip hit the back of her throat. The woman gagged and moaned, sounds that vibrated along the shaft in her mouth.
‘F-fuck!’ Javier cursed low and grabbed a fistful of the woman’s hair. He looked down and saw her eyeing him through thick, fake eyelashes. But the eyes were wrong. Instantly his mind produced the image of a pair of eyes that fit much better. Then with the eyes came features like the eyebrows and nose and lips and chin… until all he could picture was Y/N’s face and her lips wrapped around his cock.
Javier stopped the woman. ’On your hands and knees,’ he ordered. She seemed content with the suggestion and quickly obeyed. She threw a silver package at him which he caught, expertly ripping it open and taking out the condom, rolling it down his shaft. She put her elbows down on the bed and lifted her ass in the air. Javier lined his cock with her entrance and pushed in, the woman beneath him letting out a long, high-pitched moan. Javier closed his eyes and his mind tricked him into evoking that same image back to the surface. This time his imagination put Y/N’s face to her body, underneath him with her chest fluttering as she took gasping breaths while Javier fucked her into the mattress. Would she whimper or moan or would she call out his name? The thought of her saying his name with eyes partially closed … Javier’s hip movements stuttered as he fully pushed himself inside the woman underneath him, growling a sting of curses in English and Spanish.
When he’d caught his breath, he put his clothes back on. He fished out a couple of bills he knew would suffice and handed them to the prostitute who grabbed them and left the room.
Javier hurried out of the brothel, his heart hammering in his chest at the thought that he’d just fucked a prostitute to the thought of a woman he barely knew. A woman whose name was sinfully hanging at the tip of his tongue in his moment of ecstasy.

The Irreplaceable Charlie Weasley: Pt. 7, Ch. 7
PART 7: THE YEAR OF HIDING AND PASSION Chapter 7 - This Isn't Goodbye
Nova
I didn't know what was harder to believe the fact that it was Charlie and I's one-year anniversary or that we have less than two months left of our last year at Hogwarts.
I was studying in the Great Hall with Tonks, who was with me most of the time for the past month. Penny seemed to be doing nothing but crying over the fact how much she will miss all of us and she was driving Tonks insane. I tried not to think about it as much as possible as I knew it was going to be hard to say goodbye to living here at school.
McGonagall was getting less strict on me in our last few Advanced Transfiguration sessions. If I didn't know any better I would say she was getting sentimental. It will already be hard to leave this place without the teachers missing us too.
Tulip was getting rather impatient and seemed as she couldn't get out of here fast enough. She and Jae have been fighting more than being all over each other lately and she didn't look like she is going to miss Hogwarts at all.
I have been keeping myself as busy as possible and just tried to enjoy the last two months as much as I could. I found myself strolling around the school on my own a lot. It was like I was saying goodbye to every part of Hogwarts. I even fell into a deep conversation with the Fat Lady, the portrait that is guarding the Gryffindor Common Room, one day when I was waiting for Charlie. She was a bit tipsy but I got a lot of gossip about other portraits from her.
Because Tonks was with me most of the time, Andre had to take on the Penny duty. He seemed exhausted most days as he tried balancing studying and making sure Penny had enough handkerchiefs to wipe her nose in. He never complained or seemed annoyed about it and I am sure Penny appreciated it as much as we did.
Barnaby tried talking to Tonks a few times and she only gave in once. She said that he looked dashing that day and that since everybody's whining about the end of the year might as well have a proper goodbye. Their relationship always was so peculiar to me but I knew Tonks well enough that I knew it suited her so I fully supported it.
Charlie and I, on the other hand, have been great. Nothing really changed except the fact that we tried hiding our excitement, that we are soon going to work together, from our friends. We knew that Penny would be mad that we were so hyped about our job and not all miserable about leaving school.
Lately, it's all we could talk about. Charlie told me about everyone he has met and told me how they are, personality-wise and I couldn't wait to meet everyone. We made speculations about where I would be working and how they were planning to introduce Dragons to other creatures. Like we did for the Creatures Reserve, we also made a list of all creatures we think I will work with. It was all in good fun because I know I will love my job no matter what animals they assign to me.
In my free time, I tried to best prepare myself for the job. I knew I would have a whole month after N.E.W.T.s to get everything ready but I wanted to get there with a strategy. I tried putting myself in different scenarios with various creatures and Dragons, thinking about what they have in common and what they don't, about what the best approach to make them like each other would be. I got goosebumps just thinking about it, that's how excited I was!
“Tonks, could you tell me how to properly cut a Mimbulus Mimbletonia again. I can't seem to get this plant straight.” I sighed as I tried to quiz myself on some of the toughest questions and I couldn't seem to get this one right.
“Always do it without a spell and cut straight down, near the main stem.” She answered without even thinking about it. I nodded and closed my eyes, trying to imprint the answer in my brain. It was the simplest thing to remember.
“I think I finally understand this charm!” Tonks exclaimed, rolling her eyes. One good thing about Tonks wanting to spend time with me was that I could keep an eye on her. It was our N.E.W.T.s year and she has been notorious for running away during exams and even though she already had a job secured, she still had to do very well on her examination.
“I told you you'll get it. Just keep practicing.” I encouraged her and repeated her answer in my head for Mimbulus Mimbletonia just to make sure I still got it.
“Hi, Nova.” I turned around and saw Murphy getting closer to our table. It was one of the occasions that I didn't flinch or stiffen when he showed up. Ever since Charlie snapped and we talked about it I have felt more relaxed saying hello to him in the corridors or the Great Hall.
“Hi, Murphy. How are you?” I put my notes down. Tonks looking at us with interest.
“I am great! I know we haven't talked much lately but something happened that I just have to share with you.” He was beaming and shaking in his chair from excitement.
“Do tell!” I turned around completely now, eager to hear his news.
“You are looking at the new commentator for the Holyhead Harpies!” He tried to keep his voice at a normal volume but I couldn't blame him that he failed. He told me that that was his dream job when we were hanging out in our Fifth Year.
“Murphy, that is amazing!” I jumped to my feet and leaned down to hug him. “Congratulations!”
“Thank you! I just got the letter this morning and I just had to share it with you.” He grinned, moving back and forth.
“I'm glad you did.” I smiled. “You deserve it!”
“Will be able to cheer for Bonnie now!” He said proudly. Boonie was the Hufflepuff Keeper Murphy was dating for quite some time now.
“I heard she is going to play for them!” I exclaimed. His cheeks turned pink and I knew he was proud of her.
“Well done for both of you, Murph.” My smile grew bigger. I was genuinely happy that things turned out so great for him. “You and Bonnie look great together.” I didn't know what made me say that but I just felt the need to do so.
“Likewise, Nova, likewise.” He stretched out his hand to me and I shook it. I knew that this was probably one of the last conversations we would ever have and with all that happened between us, I was happy to say goodbye.
A moment later, Charlie sat down next to me and kissed my cheek. Tonks was observing him carefully, knowing full well he saw me talk to Murphy. She wanted to see how he will react but he seemed pretty unphased about it.
“Did you know Bonnie's going to play Quidditch professionally!” He finally looked at me. “She deserves it, really talented.” He added.
“Yeah, she is!” I looked at Tonks not knowing what else to say. “Murphy got the commentator job for the Harpies.” Sometimes I should just keep my mouth shut.
“No way! That's awesome!” He sounded sincere. He leaned to me and whispered. “I'm glad you got to say goodbye.”
“Me too.” I admitted. My heartbeat returned to normal when I saw that he really got over the whole Murphy thing and I was proud of him for that.
“So, what are you two lovebirds going to do today on your anniversary?” Tonks changed the subject.
“How do you know?” I asked, surprised.
“Penny told me this morning. It was the only thing that made her smile before she returned to her sobbing.” Tonks rolled her eyes.
“I would tell you Tonks, but Nova doesn't know what I'm up to.” Charlie winked at me. He has been planning something for a week now and as much as I liked surprises I couldn't wait to see what he came up with.
“She'll tell me tomorrow anyway.” Tonks swung her hand, indicating she was okay with not knowing.
“I'll leave you two to study. Got to go check up on Jae.” He turned to me and kissed me.
“How is he, by the way?” Tonks asked. “Tulip doesn't want to talk about him to us at all.”
“Not going to lie, it doesn't look good.” Charlie shook his head.
“Are you serious?” I asked bewildered. I knew they were fighting a lot lately, but I didn't think it was that bad.
“Yeah, I guess the realization of the long-distance is kicking in.” My stomach turned at Charlie's words when I remembered that we could've been in the same position if I didn't get the job in Romania.
“Anyways, got to go. Don't know how long he'll keep me and I have to get to my team later.” He sighed. “Last game of the season next week.”
“Are you going to miss them, Charlie?” Tonks asked.
“Yeah.” Charlie nodded. “This year's team was brilliant.” Even though they lost their first game against Slytherins, they did amazing against Hufflepuff and were 100 points ahead of Ravenclaw so I was confident they are going to win the Cup one more time before Charlie leaves.
“Have you decided who to appoint Captain for next year? I put my hand on his shoulder. He was debating between Angelina and Oliver for weeks now.
“Wood. I think he'll do great.” He grinned, confident in his decision.
“See you at 8.” He pressed his lips to mine again. “Don't forget, the Seventh Floor.” He reminded me and started towards the exit of the Hall.
I tried my best not to be late for our date but I simply couldn't decide what to wear. If Andre wasn't so preoccupied with Penny I would've gone to him for advice. I decided to go with something casual rather than anything else because I wasn't sure what Charlie had planned and he didn't say anything about having to be in certain attire.
I hurried from the Ravenclaw Tower to the Seventh Floor where Charlie was already waiting for me, not at all bothered that I was late.
“Couldn't decide what to wear?” He laughed a little. I nodded. “I like your choice. You look beautiful.” He leaned to me and kissed me. After a year of dating, I still blushed every time he complimented me.
“Are you ready for the surprise?” He grinned. I nodded again and turned my head to the door. He made me close my eyes and I could hear him opening it.
“Okay, you can open your eyes now.” He whispered in my ear as he stopped pushing me forward. I did so and gasped.
The room was much bigger than on our other dates. Everything was still wooden but somehow looked more modern. There was a big fireplace on the right and there was a sofa in front of it. There was a small kitchen in the far right corner and something already smelled nice and on the left side, there was a dining table, with flowers on them.
“Char, this is...” I couldn't find the words for it. If I ever imagined us living together, it would be in a place like this.
“You like it?” He chuckled and took my jacket off.
“Like it? Can we live here!” I exclaimed and he laughed.
“Soon.” He smiled at me, making me shake my head.
“What do you mean?” I started looking around. It was so cozy and so homey that I never wanted to leave.
“I did my best to recreate the cottage I am staying at in Romania.” I gasped. I couldn't believe it was this beautiful. “Of course, you can see it's missing a bed,” he giggled, “but that's usually on the second floor and I think we managed more without one.” He winked and fluttered the butterflies in my stomach.
“This is similar to your place in Romania?” I was still in awe at how beautiful it was. He nodded. “How do you ever leave?” He laughed at my question.
“I wouldn't, if it wasn't for you, love.” He pulled me into a tight embrace and I couldn't help but pretend we were already there. If I was excited before he showed me this, then I don't know what I was feeling now.
“Want some dinner? I cooked myself.” He pulled me towards the kitchen.
“You cooked?” I raised an eyebrow. We did help Molly every Summer but he has never shown any interest that he would like to attempt anything in the kitchen on his own.
“I asked Penny for some recipes. I hope you like spaghetti.” My eyes sparkled. I wanted to marry him on the spot.
The dish was delicious and I teased him that he was going to do all the cooking in Romania. We reminisced on the Ball and our first date and just talked about how good we are together. We decided to get comfier, so we moved our conversation to the sofa.
I loved how we could be a couple and best friends at the same time. I loved how much we could make each other laugh without even trying and how much fun we were having together. I couldn't believe that we were going to work together and not only do what we love but also have each other.
“So what do you want to do now?” Charlie asked softly as it was getting pretty late. We haven't spent a night with each other since the Burrow when Bill was covering for us and I think it was about time we did so.
“Make love to me, Charlie.” My gentle voice made his eyes widen and I loved how those words always made him blush. He got closer to me and pressed his lips to mine and when I closed my eyes, I saw my whole future with him.
“I can't believe we are doing this.” Penny sobbed, holding my hand.
“Get over it, Haywood.” Tonks rolled her eyes, her arm locked with mine on my other side. “Why don't you become a professor here, if you're going to miss this place so much?”
“I am not going to miss the school as much as I am going to miss you!” Penny frowned at her and I heard Tulip sigh next to her.
“We are all going to miss each other.” I tried calming them down.
We only had a few more days at school before we would take the Hogwarts Express one last time. We were walking through the corridors, saying goodbye to every professor we've met along the way and to anyone we knew that passed us.
Gryffindor won the House Cup and I knew Charlie was going to have an easier time leaving now. He made Wood Captain and the kid was so excited that he stumbled over his broom and fell flat on his nose almost making them late for their last match. Fred and George told me that Charlie gave his famous speech for the last time and that they let him do it without interruptions.
We were done with our N.E.W.T.s and even though the results didn't matter to me at all, I was still proud of how good I did, despite thinking I was going to fail at the beginning of the year. Tulip only cared for doing well in Astronomy and we all knew Penny did an amazing job even though she did more crying than studying in May.
Tonks surprised us one last time. She was a nervous wreck but she pulled through. Penny brewed her a couple of Calming Draughts and we kept telling her to imagine herself being an Auror and apparently, that did the trick. The information of what she wanted to become would come in very handy in our first couple of years.
“We did have fun, didn't we?” I said, tightening my grip on both Tonks and Penny. We owed everything to the school and our professors. All our friendships, all our relationships and accomplishments, and definitely the fact that we are all able to follow our dreams.
“Oh, I will miss you so much!” Penny stopped in the Courtyard and pulled us all in a hug. We hugged her back as I couldn't help but get emotional as well.
“Miss Blackwood, my I have a word?” I lifted my head and saw McGonagall standing near the fountain. I asked the girls to wait for me by the Lake and walked to her. She was last on my list to say goodbye to as Charlie and I already went to Kettleburn, spent an evening with Hagrid and I said goodbye to Flitwick yesterday.
“Yes, Professor.” I said as I got closer.
“I usually don't do this but I wanted to say goodbye.” I could swear I heard her voice shake. “It's been a pleasure, Professor.” I pressed my lips together to try and keep my chin from shaking. She did so much for me and she taught me more than anyone else in this school. “Thank you for believing in me and thank you for everything.” I wanted to hug her but I knew that would be crossing the line.
“Miss Blackwood, you have been one of the most talented students I had in years.” She bestowed me with one of her rare smiles. “If you ever need anything, anything at all...I am only one owl away.”
“Thank you, Professor. I appreciate it.” I can't deny that she has been a sort of a mother figure to me here at school.
“Run along now, before we get too emotional.” She sniffed and waved her hand at me. I smiled, trying hard to hold in the tears, and made my way towards the Lake.
Jae, Andre, and Charlie joined me, Tulip, Penny, and Tonks for one last hang out under our favorite tree. So much has happened at this spot. We hung out, we had so many fun moments, Penny and I fought, and Charlie and I fought. It was the place where Charlie and I first kissed and got into our biggest fight over Murphy a few months ago. But that was all behind us now as we started to tease Tonks about how many times she ran away from us over the years because of the exams.

Dan Povenmire, co-creator of Phineas and Ferb and the voice of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, just did a zoom call for fans, and this is a link to it on Google Drive and a link to it on YouTube.
Here’s a brief overlay brought to you by my incessant live blogging, and because I was speed typing on my phone, I can guarantee not everything made the cut. If you’re interested in hearing Dan talk about growing up an artist and becoming an animator and trying to pitch Phineas and Ferb and working on the show and movies, I would definitely suggest checking out the full 75 minute video. The highlights from the call are below the cut.
They added Doof and Perry because they liked chase scenes. They realized fairly quickly that more than not, the pair led to good comedy, and found it much more interesting to see how their relationship developed. He also says that they are "the most important person to each other” and “they’re really good friends.”
They wrote the Perry theme song in an hour between meetings with Disney
They decided during the pilot that they weren't going to try to get comedy from the characters saying mean things to each other. Even Doofenshmirtz wasn't motivated by evil, he just wanted to get the attention he didn't get at home.
Doof’s backstories were not Dan and Swampy's idea. They were from Jon Barry and Chris Hendrick, who [itched the lawn gnome backstory. It was long and compliated and Dan and Swampy couldn’t stop laughing. They also provided the "it all started on the day of my birth” one the next day.
making the 2D movie while making the movie was the busiest Dan says he has ever been, and that's not even counting the PnF Take Two and Doof's web show and all the interviews. Basically, 2010ish was a very busy time in the Dwampyverse.
They decided to give each pair of writers their own section of an outline to work on, and each pair got to make up the dialogue and jokes based on it. it works well for the show, but writers kept going on their own tangents and the movie ended up like 6 hours long. Dan and Kyle Menke had to redraw 80% of the show because they had to cut gags out and rewrite it so it was still funny. Note: in the new movie, they did the opposite — they wrote a script and told the board artists that they could put brief gags in but nothing too long
He thinks the show became one of the most beloved shows bc it was innocent and the adult humor wasn't dirty so the whole family could watch it together. He also said the songs at the closest thing you get to immortality in a show. Those combined made the show as big of a hit as it was, and hopefully those things will get older people to watch the movie.
His advice if you want to follow in his footsteps are to draw (and suggest you check out Cartoon Animation by Preston Blaire and How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way by Stan Lee) and to know that these jobs are out there
One of his favorite gags in PnF are the silent moments where something big happens and no one reacts (like something big fell in an early episode and crashed next to Phineas and co and at first they were all shocked but Dan changed it to them just kinda looking at it for a moment with no emotion)
Q: Did you ever want to quit what you were going?
A: "I don't really... do... anything else..."
He finished his new pilot today (July 2nd, 2020) and the movie is due tomorrow.
He would love to do more PnF and there's been talks of another PnF movie
He would love to do more Milo Murphy's Law, but it never got huge ratings and Disney's not too big on it but if people start watching it on Disney+ they might get to keep doing it. They did that with Family Guy, and it could happen to MML too.
The movie feels like old Phineas and Ferb and there are a lot of great songs!
And now, the Q&A (in which he draws random characters are he talks)
How was the process of kicking the voices?
It was sometime easy but sometimes very difficult. For Phineas, they listened to maybe a thousand people. they actually recorded someone but they put it to animation and it didn't really work. He knew as soon as he heard Vincent that he loved him. They literally recasted the lead (Vincent) the day before they had to deliver the pilot.
He knew immediately that he liked Alison Stoner. She was the second Isabella he heard, and he listened to maybe 50 others afterwards, but he knew he wanted Alison Stoner
They decided on a different Candace and they sent it to the head of the channel and the guy asked if he heard Ashley Tisdale. He told Dan to have her come in and give her direction and Dan was hesitant bc he had one that he liked but he was lowkey forced to bring her in. It was his only audition that day, and after his big block of text Dan gave her like 20 notes and she wrote the notes on the big block of text and she did it again and it was perfect and obviously Candace (but he feels bad for the actress that was almost Candace bc she'll never know how close she was)
What was the most impactful episode you worked on?
Either the last (hard to watch w/o crying) or three moments that made himcey while doing them: the end of Summer Belongs To You when Phineas gives up trying to get off the island and decides to watch the sunset with Isabella which was what she always wanted and she exploded and talked him back up onto being the person he is even tho it's a sacrifice on her behalf. He later says he started crying while pitching to his wife the AYA scene of Phinabella getting together.
Do you regret any episodes?
There are some he likes more and some he likes less but he doesn't regret any of them. He was a little disappointed in an early episode without a sing but he watched it alter and decided it was actually pretty decent. None of them make him cringe or wonder why they did that.
How has social media impacted PnF?
He recently got on TikTok and found out that's where all the PnF fans are. He was thrilled to see the response everything was getting and it made him feel good about everything he accomplished. The fact that this generation knows what an aglet is is his biggest accomplishment in pop culture.
Favorite part of working on the show/movie
He likes editing, but writing the songs is the most fun bc it feels the least like work
Who is Ferb's mom?
Never established or really thought about Ferb's mom or Phineas's dad AND IT'S NOT DOOFENSHMIRTZ THEY MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THAT TO BE TRUE STOP ASKING and Phineas and Candace are full brother and sister. The bio parents aren't interesting to them bc the family already has a mom and dad and the other ones are just out of the picture and not important.
Will there be a new character in the movie?
Super Super Big Doctor (and Disney keeps telling him what he can and can't talk about)
Are there any secrets or theories that he can tell them?
The freaking creepy pasta about schitzophrenic Candace IS NOT TRUE Phineas and Ferb do exist and are alive. There's also a theory that Candace is not based on the diary of a teen girl in Russia who killed herself, and that's not true either. He genuinely thinks they are really freaking stupid theories and they make no sense at all.
Who is your favorite guest star?
Writing a song with Slash from Guns n Roses was really cool. He also liked working with Ben Stiller, Christian Slater the delivery guy (he called and said he'd do any part in MML so they wrote him a role), Jack McBrayer (Irving/Fix It Felix), Wayne Brady (co-wrote In The Empire)
What is the motivation of Candace to bust the boys?
He's not trying to hurt them. She doesn't dislike them. She gets irritated but she's really just looking for fairness. If she built a rollercoaster in the backyard, she'd get in trouble, so they should get in trouble, too.
How did you think about hot to end the show?
Disney was starting to cool off on PnF. The merch wave had plateaued. Dan and Swampy had the next two years in the show already made, but Disney wouldn't pick up another season until they finished airing that season. They'd have to restaff for a new season and they didn't like that idea, so they turned one of their hour long specials into the finale. He wanted to be able to say goodbye and thank the fans.

Summary: You had been waiting for a break - that one case in the DEA that would give you a chance to really make a difference. So, when you are tasked with taking down a large but highly secretive and underground drug cartel, you jump on it - despite lacking the information on who runs the operation. Then...you meet a stranger in a bar.
Next Part | Masterlist
/////
You can’t help the excited smile that creeps onto your face as you leave the Ambassadors office and return to the two conjoined desks you and your partner shared. Ambassador Noonan had just informed you that you and Steve were to lead the team tasked with taking down a local but growing drug cartel located right here in Bogotá. The Los Carnales Cartel had started out small and then boomed, becoming one of the fastest-growing drug cartels in the country. The only problem was that they seemed to have come out of the woodworks, and they were experts at keeping their operations underground. The DEA had little to no information on any of the key players except for a few sicarios on the bottom.
But it was a start.
The start you had been waiting for since you had been transferred to Colombia almost six months ago. Soon after you had arrived your partner, Steve Murphy,  had landed as well, and you had almost immediately bonded. You both worked together seamlessly through the various small drug busts you were assigned, but you had both been yearning for something more – something bigger. And it had finally happened.
You plopped down in your seat and looked expectantly at Steve who only gave you a sparing glance and gestured to the phone held between his ear and shoulder. You rolled your eyes and pulled the phone from his grip dropping it onto the receiver.
“What the hell-“ he spluttered, surprised by your sudden theft of his phone, “That was an important call!” he huffed.
“Oh hush,” you tutted, “I have news that is more important than any phone call you’ll ever receive,” you say happily, clasping your hands together and resting your chin atop them.
Steve sighed, running a hand down his face, “And what news would that be?”
“Ambassador Noonan wants us to lead the task force to take down Los Carnales!” you exclaim, tossing one of the two folders on your desk to your partner.
His eyes widen and he rips the folder open skimming through the files, “You’re serious?” he asks breathlessly, looking at you with caution.
You nod enthusiastically, “Yes! We start tomorrow, the Ambassador wants us to read over the files tonight and come in tomorrow ready to take these bastards down,” you say triumphantly.
Steve lets out a soft laugh and leans back in his chair, hands behind his head, “I knew we would get something like this sooner or later.”
You just smiled and nodded, “I’m just glad it finally happened,” you begin, “I know we were doing important work already, but I wanted to get to the root of the problem, really make a difference, you know?” you say wistfully, taking the file and tucking it away in your purse before standing.
Steve furrows his brows, “Where are you off too in a hurry?”
You tap your watch, “Day’s over Murphy,” you say, “And I have a date with destiny,” you joke gesturing to the file in your bag, “Well, and a glass of whiskey to celebrate.”
Your partner just laughs and stands with you as you grab your gun from your desk drawer and tuck it into the holster on your side before slipping your jacket on. Steve bids you goodbye and you do the same before walking to your car to head home.
-----
You hadn’t spent long in your apartment, only enough time to read through the files the Ambassador had given you and for the disappointment to slowly build within your mind. You had read through the files almost three times, only to be disheartened by how little was actually there. You knew you didn’t have a lot of information about the cartel, but to actually see how little you had? It was disheartening. You only had two names for sure, and they were a low-level Sicario and a local drug runner who had been seen frequenting local bars and clubs.
You suppose you had to start somewhere.
You let out an exasperated sigh and closed the file before glancing at your watch. Eight o’clock wasn’t too late to go get a drink right? Plus, it was a night to celebrate – at least that’s what you told yourself as you grabbed your purse from the counter and walked out of your apartment and onto the streets of Bogotá. You and Steve had frequented a bar just down the street from your apartment, usually just stopping in for a drink after work or meeting Steve’s wife Connie there for just a night to catch up and not think about work. So you knew the path to the small hole in the wall dive and you were there within ten minutes. You walked towards the door and saw Carlos, a local kid who was always outside the bar selling that days newspaper and the fruits his family grew. You saw him starting to pack up for the night and called out to get his attention.
¡Oye, Carlos! Espera un momento!” you called, smiling as the boy startled slightly before realizing it was you and waving excitedly.
“Hola señorita (y/n), ¿cómo estás?” the small boy asks, ginning at you widely.
You chuckle, “Lo estoy haciendo bien Carlos, espero que lo estés haciendo bien. ¿Es demasiado tarde para comprar un periódico?”
The young boy just shakes his head and pulls the local newspaper from his bag handing it to you. You take it from him and thank him before paying him, slipping in a bit extra. The boy just smiles up at you and you just put a finger of your lips and wink.
“Muchas gracias señorita!”
You give him a smile as you step by him to enter the bar but turn back to him as he gets onto his bicycle, “No hay problema Carlos, ten cuidado” you said and waved him off before finally entering the building.
The bartender gave you a small wave as you walked in, already pouring you a glass of whiskey and setting it in front of you as sat down at the bar. You gave him a small smile and a thank you before settling into your seat and laying the newspaper on the bartop in front of you. You took the glass of dark amber liquid in your hand and took a small sip, relishing in the familiar burn as you swallowed before setting the glass down again. You casually cast a glance around the small bar, a habit you had picked up since becoming an agent - always be aware of your surroundings.
For the most part, it was the usual crows of regulars, but the one thing that did catch your eye was the small group of men sitting at the table in the corner. You had built rapport with the people in this small part of town, and you knew a lot of them by name, their routines never changing. But as you sat here now, eyes glancing over the small troop, you realized they all looked unfamiliar. And the one thing that stuck out to you most were the guns on their hips.
You weren’t an idiot, you knew there were more gangs, cartels, and drug lords here than anywhere you had worked before, so guns weren’t unusual - but it still made your anxiety spike slightly. Not wanting to draw attention to yourself, you turned your eyes back to the newspaper in front of you, trying to see if there was any news that may be relevant to your job, and continued to nurse your drink. You had barely gotten halfway down the front page when you felt a presence fill the seat to your left. Without moving your head you cast a short glance to see a man with dark hair in a dark rust-colored shirt flagging the bartender down. You turned your eyes back to the paper in front of you, trying to focus on that, until the man next to you spoke up.
“What are you having?” his deep baritone reached your ears and caused you to tear your eyes from the paper and look at him fully.
The first thing that crossed your mind was that he was handsome - dark hair, dark eyes, a mustache that would have looked ridiculous on anyone else, but seemed to suit him well, and a charming smile. However, this initial observation was followed quickly by annoyance that you couldn’t just drink and read in peace.
When you didn’t answer right away, the man gestured to your empty glass, “Your drink,” he clarified, as if you didn’t understand.
You had to fight the urge to roll your eyes and instead turned to look back at your newspaper, “I heard you,” you bite, “I’m not interested.”
The man lets out a low chuckle and you try to ignore the feeling it ignited within your chest, “I didn’t ask if you out-” he says, a glint in his eye, “I asked what you were drinking.”
You sigh, eyes still not leaving the newspaper, “Whiskey,” you mutter, “Why are you so intrigued by my drink choice?”
The man doesn’t answer, he only hums quietly before letting out a short whistle, waving the bartender over, “¿puedo conseguir dos whiskys? uno para mí y otro para la dama,” the man says gesturing to you at the end of his sentence.
You let out a huff and finally tear your eyes from the newspaper to rest on the man to your left, “what part of ‘not interested’ did you not understand?”
All the man does is smirk at you, “You know Spanish?” he asks teasingly.
You don’t fight the urge to roll your eyes this time, “yes, I know how to know Spanish. It would be pretty hard to get around without it.”
The man just chuckles, his eyes falling from you to the bartender as he sets your drinks down. The man just offers him a wave before sliding your drink to you. You look at it cautiously, not moving to take the drink and instead stare at him as he takes a small sip from his before setting it back down.
“Listen, I’m not here to kidnap you or whatever it is you think I’m here to do,” he begins, a slight genuineness behind his words as he continues, “Just want to make conversation.”
You scoff, “I highly doubt that.”
“I’ll prove it too you,” he says as if offering you a deal, “What brings you here?” he begins tentatively.
You purse your lips, still unsure of whether or not you wanted anything to do with the handsome stranger before finally letting out a small sigh, hand moving to wrap around the glass of alcohol. At least you get a free drink out of it.
“I got a...promotion at work,” you say slowly, not telling the whole truth, “so I’m out celebrating.”
The man hums again before giving you a smile and rasing his glass, “felicitaciones en su promoción!”
You let out a small chuckle and tap your glass to his before taking a large sip, “gracias,” you say softly.
A smirk creeps onto the mans face, “you should speak Spanish more...it suits you..” he trails off waiting for you to fill in with your name.
You can’t help the blush that blooms on your cheeks and you clear your throat slightly, “u-uh yeah, thanks I guess,” you mutter lowly before sticking your hand out to him, “my name’s (y/n).”
He smiles and shakes your hand before withdrawing and taking another sip from his drink, his eyes trailing up and down your figure. You swallow thickly and shift in your seat before speaking up once more, “Do I get the pleasure of knowing the name of the guy who’s paying for my drink?” you ask, watching as he turns the glass on the counter slowly before opening his mouth to respond.
-------
Javier Peña had built a name for himself here in Bogotá.
He hadn’t come from much, his parents born in Colombia but then moving to the states for a ‘better life’. Something that fell through the cracks while Javier was in grade school. They moved back to Colombia shortly after and Javier had learned very quickly that in order to survive, you had to fight. So that’s what he did. Over the years he was in and out with the wrong people until eventually, he was a force to be reckoned with.
The leader of the Los Carnales Cartel.
He was smart. He was clever. And most of all, he was willing to do anything to get what he wanted - and anyone who knew him knew that and didn’t get in his way. That’s how he managed to stay afloat for so long. He kept his operation under wraps, only a select few people he trusted knew anything about the operations of his drug business. He took pride in the fact that he has been operating unobstructed for almost two years now, evading even the DEA.
Until tonight.
He, of course, didn’t know that the DEA had their sights on his cartel - hell - he didn’t even know that they knew he existed. But as he and a few of his sicarios sat in a local bar, one he had only been too once, many years earlier, he saw you. He had clocked you the minute you approached the bar, watched as you bantered lightly with the boy selling newspapers, and listened as you bid him farewell before taking a seat at the far end of the bar, newspaper in hand, and badge on your belt.
Wait - badge?
One of the reasons Javier was good at his job, is he was always aware of his surroundings - observant of those around him that may be a threat or cause problems. So when he says the golden metal gleam in the low light of the bar and caught the sleek black metal of a pistol on your belt, his interest was peaked. You weren’t a cop, at least not a local one. You spoke English too well, you sounded American, and most of all you were wearing a suit.
He looked to his comrades and told them he would be back before stalking across the bar and sliding into the seat next to you, amused at your refusal to look at him. He finally got you talking, and eventually even got you to reveal your name, taking this moment of vulnerability on your part to get a closer look at you. His eyes roamed from head to toe until they landed on the badge once more, just barely able to make out the letters on the golden metal peeking from beneath your blazer.
Drug Enforcement Agency - Special Agent.
You ask his name and he smiles, a triumphant gleam in his eye as he realizes the opportunity presented before him. A DEA agent who has no clue who he is, and has already let her guard down. He lets out a low chuckle, eyes on his half-full glass as he turns in slowly on the bar top, before looking back at the woman across from him and opens his mouth to respond,
“Javier Peña.”

The New Chaser Pt.3
After practice, Murphy raced down to the tent. Some of the team were leaving to headed back to the castle, but he didn't see a silver haired beauty, so hopefully she was either waiting for him or still getting cleaned and dressed.
Once inside the tent for the Gryffindor team, he set up his things near the large chalkboard. Out of the corner of his eye he saw two girls come around from the changing rooms, laughing. He turned fully and saw Iris with the Gryffindor Keeper chatting happily, she was a very outgoing person and he admired that about her.
Her long hair was pulled up into a high ballerina bun, showing off her neck and her delicate clavicles that were peeking out from her white t shirt. Murphy had never particularly ever thought of a white t shirt and jeans as being anything spectacular but on Iris it made his teenage libido soar.
“I'll see you tomorrow!” Iris waved goodbye to the Keeper and her eyes turned to him as she slid a dusty pink jacket over her shoulders, and Murphy had never hated a piece of clothing more.
“There's an 87.6% chance that what I'm about to teach you will up your odds of making the team by 33.7% so-”
“I've barely arrived-”
“But we've got a lot to cover!” Murphy blurted out quickly as he flicked his wand at the chalkboard, drawing and schematics coming to life before his eyes. Iris's eyes bulged a little.
“What is that!” She asked excitedly.
“Quidditch strategy!”
“No, I meant the charm!”
“Oh, my mum taught me the Blackboard writing spell when I was seven.” He told her, warmth swelling in his chest thats he seemed to be impressed. “Now the thing to remember about the Thimblerig Shuffle is-”
“The Thimblerig shuffle?”
“It's the Quidditch strategy I invented.” She had a look on her face that told him she was a little lost and he needed to guide her back. “You know, Thimblerig? The shell game? First you put a pea under one of the three nut shells, then there's a bit of a sleight of hand as you quickly shuffle the shells, then whoever is playing guesses where the pea is at, and then you lift up the shell they guessed, then uh oh, no pea? You shuffle the shells again-”
“Ok, but what does Thimblerig got to do with Quidditch?” She decided that they were going to be there a while and sat down on the bench near him and he could smell either her perfume or her soap, Magnolia flowers.
“Take shell game theory, throw in a dash of the Porskoff Ploy, add a splash of a surprise and you've got the Thimblerig shuffle. I'll break it down move by move-
“I think you should.”
“But pay close attention.”
“I am paying attention.” She asserted.
“Because there's a lot to explain and I talk quite fast, about 2.3 times as fast as most wizards and -”
“Yes, I know, I can hardly get in a word before-”
“Ready? Brilliant! Here we go!” He had to talk quick. Truthfully because around this girl, for whatever reason, made him nervous and that made him talk even more quickly then he normally does.
Actually he knew the reason, she was pretty, she was fantastic at Quidditch, she was full of charisma, and she was a genuinely good person from the little time they had spent together. He had never really had crushes before, except for one little girl in his hometown for the summer, but he could tell by his sweaty palms, nervous chattering, and high heart rate that this was the tentative beginnings of a crush.
“It's a simple strategy when you look at it.” He explained as he animated the chalk drawings on the board.
“Do you think it's something we could pull off at practice?” She inquired, studying the chalkboard, her blue eyes never turning away. “So I fly to center, left, right, then center, right, left... Right?”
“Yep! You're an excellent audience!” He smiled, “the hardest thing is going to be passing the Quaffle back and forth as you shuffle with the other chasers.” They spent the better part of an hour going over the strategy, with Iris asking all the right questions in his mind, getting into the knitty gritty of the Thimblerig shuffle. “That's the Thimblerig Shuffle.” “I definitely got... some of it.” She admitted hesitantly.
“Then let's review. This will be your last chance to get it down before you try it out at practice later.”
“If leaning the Thimblerig shuffle is the key to getting Orion Amari to give me a tryout, I'm all in.” She told him as she stood up and stretched.
“I like your style, Iris! Alright, first, the chasers start flying in a triangular Hawkshead Attacking formation, then the center chaser drops back so all three are in a row. Then the Chasers start shuffling the shells in a game of Thimblerig while passing the Quaffle among them. Then as the other team gets distracted trying to follow the Quaffle, a chaser flies up to set up the Porskoff Ploy. But then, just as the other team realizes the Quaffle is to be dropped to the Chaser flying directly below, it's revealed that the other Chaser is the 'shell' with the 'pea'. The chaser with the quaffle is open to score when no one is looking at him. It's a fake out, a ploy within a ploy. A masterpiece disguised as a maneuver-”
“And a challenge for anyone to remember.”
“So we'll put you to the test. You have a friendly tomorrow against Hufflepuff. Show you know the Thimblerig shuffle and you'll be one step closer to Orion giving you a Chaser tryout.”
“Sounds like a solid plan, if I can pull it off.” Iris told him, placing her hands on her hips.
“Stop by my commentary box before the friendly, yeah?”
“Ok, I can do that.” She nodded, giving him a smile.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Iris flew up to the commentators box bright and early before the friendly.
“Hi, I'm here and-”
“Now let's see how much you remember about the Thimblerig shuffle.”
“Not even a hello? Do you talk about anything other than Quidditch and game strategy?” She asked, feeling slightly perturbed.
“You're the one who needs to ramp up on the Quidditch strategy if you want to get a tryout.”
“Yes, but-” She started, but he cut her off.
“So, how sure are you that you remember my strategy?”
“About 50%, you can quiz me if you like.”
“Of course I want to quiz you! I'll take any chance to hear myself talk.” He only partially joked.
“Sometimes you're impossible Murphy.” She shook her head.
“That's exactly what my mum says.” He grinned, “so, before you attempt the Thimblerig shuffle, tell me in what shape is the Hawkshead Attack Formation.”
“Triangular.” She stated matter of factly.
“Yes! I knew I'd be a brilliant strategy coach to you!” He cheered. “Next question, knowing what Quidditch move is a key component of the Thimblerig shuffle?”
“The Porskoff Ploy is key.”
“Right again! I knew we'd uncover your inner strategist. The friendly is starting soon, so next question-”
“Wait, if I'm to try this strategy at practice now, perhaps I should take a moment to clear my head.”
“And do what in the meantime, quiz me?” He asked, chuckling.
“Why not?” She smiled.
“About Quidditch? You won't stump me.”
“How about questions about you. You're always either coaching me or commentating at me, Murphy.”
“I told you, my friends call me McNully.”
“And I'm telling you, how can I call you a friend if I know nothing about you?” She asked from where she was hovering on her broom, swinging her feet back and forth.
“What do you want to know? My favorite color? Yellow. Favorite food? Roast and veg. Favorite spell? The one I cast on the blackboard. Favorite witch or wizard? My mum. Any pets? My kneazle. Kneil. How do I get my hair to look this good? Magic. Was it my dream to play Quidditch? No, always announcing. See? Now you're one step closer to being on a last name basis with me.”
“Perhaps.” She smiled slyly. “Guess we'll figure out soon if I'm closer to a Quidditch tryout in a few minutes. Have I learned enough strategy to at least get an introduction to Orion, if not a recommendation?”
“You, um... Kind of sort of... Already know him.”
“What?”
Orion flies by conveniently.
“That's Orion.”
“The random mate who's been filling in for Skye at practice?” She shrieked.
“The third Chaser who is captain of our team. I'd already talked you up to Orion even before I dumped my Quidditch playbooks on you.”
“And you never said so! Why?” Her voice rose even higher in pitch.
“Number one, your strategic instincts do need work. Number two, you may not have stuck around to learn the Thimblerig shuffle. I've been wanting to see it attempted in a match, if only to adjust my calculations.” He admitted truthfully.
“I don't know whether to thank you for helping me or be cross for how you went about it.”
“Can you decide after you try the Thimblerig shuffle? Your friendly is about to start. Good luck out there, Iris. I'm 77.7% sure you've got this!”
“Only 77.7%?”
“83.4%...? Perhaps 89.9%?”
“Where are you getting these calculations?” She turned on her broom to head to the pitch.
“99.9% sure, all right? Go! Just go!” He yelled after her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She was pissed, and flew by his commentators box as fast as she could, causing paper to fly and for him to drop the microphone.
“What was that all about?!”
“You released those freaking Pixies to pester me while I was trying to balance on my stupid broom!”
“Yes. I already confessed via owl. But it was Orion's idea!” He confessed. “First Orion asked if I knew where we could borrow a lot of Pixies. I asked him how many Pixies is a lot of Pixies: a dozen pixies, or a hundred pixies, or a thousand pixies? Then Orion asked how many pixies did I think was a lot of pixies? Then I asked what are the lot of pixies for, because then I'd know how many pixies is too many pixies. Then Orion asked why I-”
“Skip ahead, Murphy!” Iris shouted, visibly irritated.
“Right, by the time I get through my commentary, Chaser tryouts will be finished.”
“What? Chaser tryouts? When!”
“Today, of course. If Orion's testing you like he's been, it's a good sign he'll be giving you a close look-”
“But Murphy, Orion hasn't asked me to try out for the team!” She blurted out quickly, shock in her eyes.
“Are you sure? 100% sure?”
“Yes! I've tried to talk to him about Quidditch tryouts each time we meet, but all we do is... Balance. It's unnerving!”
“Then it's time I teach you a new strategy.”
“I've no time to learn another Thimblerig shuffle, Murphy.”
“Which you pulled off brilliantly by the way. But I haver a different kind of strategy in mind.”
“And what's that?”
“Talk, and talk, and talk, and talk, until you wear him out. Don't let him get a word in edgewise.” He told her simply.
“Really?” She inquired, not knowing how the heck that would even work.
“Yes! Exhaust him with your Quidditch confidence! Be shrill and tout your skill! TALK SO LOUDLY HE'LL WANT TO CAST AN EAR-SHRIVELLING CURSE UPON HIMSELF!”
“All right, all right, I hear you.” She waved her hand at him.
“Good, now all you've got to do is make Orion hear you. Don't let him throw you off your mission with all of his 'mental focus' nonsense.”
“Nonsense? I thought the two of you got one fine.”
“We do. He trusts my scouting, and I trust his... Captain-ing?” He scratched his chin, “what do you think of Orion so far?” Iris shrugged her shoulder in an offhanded way.
“I find Orion intriguing. I've not met anyone quite like him at Hogwarts.”
Jealousy got the better of him and he quipped, “Some say I'm intriguing too, Just so you know. Usually it's my mum, but others say so too.”
“Your mum must be a fascinating witch, Murphy.”
“I certainly think so, but enough about my mum, you've got to go and talk yourself into getting a Quidditch tryout-and quickly!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the tent after one last practice before the tryouts, which he had heard Iris scored her tryout, he found Iris and Skye talking to one another. Iris looked like she was positively glowing.
“So my advice about talking and talking and talking yourself into the tryout worked!” He exclaimed, coming up behind Iris, she jumped a little but relaxed when she saw it was him. “First, I saw you talking to Orion from my box, then I saw him saying something back, then I heard you yell 'FINALLY! I'M TRYING OUT FOR THE QUIDDITCH TEAM'! And then-”
“Shut up!” One of the fellow aspiring players shouted at McNully.
“What's this? We've got Pince trying out for Chaser now?” He huffed.
“Don't take it personally, everyone is just trying to focus on tryouts, Murphy.”
“Best they get used to the sound of my voice then, right?” He gave her a wink and a grin, he was genuinely happy for her. “Speaking of tryouts, how ready do you feel?”
“55% ready. That's over half.”
“More than half a sandwich means that someone still took a healthy bite out of your sandwich. 55%, dreadful.”
“Murphy!”
“SHHHHHH!”
“Fun bunch, this lot.” He rolled his eyes after glaring at the girl who dared speak to Iris in such a way. “Perhaps this is all part of their strategy to outwit you on the pitch, make you think they're nervous. Don't get outstrategised during the tryout, Iris. Remember, strategy is all that matters.”
“Thank you Murphy, I'll try not to let you down.” She told him in a kind way that made his heart beat just a little faster. Like you could let me down, his mind thought with a goofy grin on his face.
“Odds are you won't. I've done the calculations.” He smiled and was about to give her a pep talk, when Orion walked up.
“McNully, would you allow me a moment with Iris Rosewood?” He said in his dreamy voice.
“Sure, good luck, Iris.” He left her to chat with Orion, and went to find the best spot for the tryouts.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The tryouts could not have went better, Murphy watched Iris use her brute strength, her strategy, and focus all equally in the sky and had out shown every other player in his opinion. He knew that Orion would need to mull it over and that night in the dorms he decided to give him the third degree.
“What a tryout!” He announced loudly as he rolled into his and Orion's shared dorm. “Good players, all of them, but I think we both know who was the star.”
“All stars burn bright, McNully.”Orion stated from his place where he was meditating on his bed. “Which star are you referring?”
“The Iris star. You know the one that made the rest of the players look like ants?” Murphy was not in the mood to deal with Orion's antics. “She outscored the rest of the people at tryouts by 66%, outflew and out maneuvered 76%, and at one point got a bludger to crash into the stands instead of her! What more do you want from her Orion? Balance on her broom in a tutu while reciting Shakespeare and catch the snitch while winning Miss Hogwarts?”
“The next Chaser must be like an orb, all encircling, always ready to move forward-”
“What does that even mean?!” Murphy asked exasperated. Just as he was about to go on a tirade, the door flew open.
“What's up my bitches!” Skye shouted. “I need to talk about those tryouts, and what number you intend to give Iris when she joins the team.”
“The question should be if the team wishes for Iris to join-”
“YES!” Both Murphy and Skye shouted.
“Are you even thinking about anyone else?” Murphy stated more then questioned.
“The path has already been chosen, now we must navigate this new trail.”
“What are you smoking, Amari?” Skye asked. “If the new path isn't Iris, I'm going to blow a gasket, understand that?”
“You are both interrupting my meditation, the longer I am unable to meditate, the longer it will be for the answers you seek.”
Skye and Murphy looked at one another, gave each other the I'm not poking the bear expression, and decided to sit and wait.
It felt like hours, which was really just about 30 minutes, before Orion muttered anything other than hums.
“I see a white glow-”
“It's Iris.” Both Skye and Murphy quipped quickly, then looked at each other through narrowed eyes.
“I see fire-”
“It's Iris.” They stated in unison again.
“I see a flying bird-”
“It's Iris.” Again, both Murphy and Skye stated. Finally the girl got up and said loudly,
“We all know Iris is the next Chaser, so fuck it, I'm sending her an owl to meet me.”

word count: 3.2K pairing: javier pena x oc warning(s): alcohol consumption notes: finally some proper javi interactions in this chapter!
In the week following the Medellin trip, Steve, Javier, and Elena fell into an easy routine. There was a part of Elena that thought bringing in a new partner might create some tension. A new pair of eyes meant a whole new perspective on the job at hand. But Steve made it easy. He listened to what Elena and Javier conveyed to him and was quick to agree with them. And she was grateful for it. God knows she didn’t have the headspace to deal with another hot-headed partner too stubborn to see eye to eye with them. And it was nice to know that she had someone else to help with dealing with Pena.
However, in the midst of adjusting to being a newly formed trio, Elena didn’t miss the mood shift with Javier. It didn’t affect his work ethic. God, no. If anything, he became more focused during those high-stressed moments. But he wasn’t like this because of the long hours at work. Or maybe it was a part of it. Elena knew he was still mulling over what happened with the informant. And given the bags under his eyes, sleep had been alluding him as well. It made her heartache. She never breathed a word about what happened to him after that night. She knew his boundaries and the last thing she wanted was to piss him off or upset him even more.
So she found another way to combat the ever-present worry she had for her partner.
Elena kept a mindful eye on him during that week, deciding to make work just a little more tolerable for him. Each time she saw he had finished a cup of coffee, she would get him a new one. Whenever Javier would smoke through his entire pack, Elena would slip him hers without looking up from her paperwork. The first couple of times he didn’t question it. But soon, Javier caught onto the attentiveness of it all and it made him curious. It was unwarranted. A few times he thought about asking her about it. Each time he would try, she would merely smile at him and return to work. It was strange. She wasn’t doing it for Murphy and their new partner didn’t seem bothered by it either.
After a particularly exhausting day, Elena was the last of the group to leave the embassy. Steve had left early to pick up Connie from work and take her home. After the whole incident with their cat, he didn’t like Connie being home by herself, if he could help it. And Elena couldn’t blame him for being worried. Elena was home that day, enjoying one of the few relaxing days she planned for herself when there was a loud banging at her door. Needless to say, Elena was confused to find a disheveled Steve standing on the other side of her door. He asked her if she could stay with Connie while he went back to the embassy. Explaining how someone had broken into their apartment and killed their cat. Not exactly what she expected to hear, regardless, she agreed and stayed with Connie until Steve returned. It was a whole fiasco with them trying to figure out who was responsible. But the situation was dealt with. Still, it understandably rattled the couple.
Gathering up the multiple folders skewed across her desk, Elena stashed them into the desk drawers and left the embassy. On the walk to her car, she glanced down at her watch and cursed to herself. It was already 7:30 and she was due at Steve and Connie’s for dinner at 6:30. Steve had invited her and Javier over at the insistence of Connie. But Steve knew the workload was a lot today. Hopefully, they’ve been keeping themselves occupied.
Elena didn’t bother changing clothes once she got to the complex. She merely jogged up the stairs to Connie and Steve’s apartment. Luckily, she arrived just in time. She was guided to the table by Steve, where Javier had already found his perch, and Connie offered her a glass of wine. She took it without hesitation. The dinner started off well. Javier spent a good amount of time sharing a few stories. Some he hadn’t even told Elena yet. Then, Connie and Steve spent about fifteen minutes sharing details of their lives. Steve indulged her and Javier about how he had met Connie. A quite impressive story, really.
“You put down your real number?” Elena asked.
Connie took a drink from her glass, shrugging and smiling at the question. “I thought I’d take a shot, he didn’t know that it was my real number.”
“Yeah, not until I called that night.”
Elena shook her head and smirked, “Well, look at you two. A real modern love story indeed.”
“And what about you, Elena?”
“Oh,” Elena waved off Connie’s question. “I don’t have any kind of relationship stories like that.” Most of her relationships were impulsive ones, never ones that were to be taken seriously.
“That’s a bummer, but I was talking about yourself.” Connie paused briefly to think of a question. “Do you have any siblings?”
Oh right, it got to that part of the conversation. She always felt awkward with telling facts about herself to people. She had been rather selective with Javier when she first transferred. Sharing only simple things that were easy to digest. “Yeah, I have an older brother. A few cousins but, other than that, it’s a pretty small family.”
“Where you from?”
“New York.” Memories of her childhood came flooding back. It almost felt like a smack across the face. “Both my grandparents immigrated from Spain in the early ’20s. Dad worked as a mechanic and mom was a nurse.” Both normal and commendable jobs.
Connie seemed to be thinking the same thing. “Then, led you to end up being a DEA agent?”
“A friend of mine, she had a cousin who was working as a federal agent. He’d share a few things with us,” she shrugged, using her fork to push around the food on her plate. “I guess I liked the idea. So after graduating from college, I went for it. Worked my ass off to get there.” She couldn’t stress the last bit enough. Connie was quick to catch on and she raised her glass to her. “And then Nixon signed the proposition in ‘73. I continued to work my way through the department. My supervisor thought I would be good at it.” She glanced across the table, finding Javier’s eyes were on her, his lips stretched in the softest smile. It actually made her heart beat faster.
“When did you come down here?” Connie had grabbed the wine bottle and started to refill everyone’s glasses.
Elena’s eyes remained on Javier, the answer dancing around her tongue for a moment. “About eight months ago.” She raised her fork and pointed it at the man across from her. “It was hell working with that one the first few months.”
Javier brows creased in mock hurt, it made everyone at the table chuckle. “It wasn’t that bad.”
“I beg to differ, he was a know-it-all hot head,” she reached for her glass, pausing briefly to shrug her shoulders. “Still is a little bit.”
“Takes one to know one, right?” Javier’s smile grew.
She could hear Connie and Steve snicker at Javier’s statement. And she tried to suppress the grin that appeared but failed, miserably. Elena bunched up her napkin and tossed it at him. He swatted it away before reaching into his pocket for his cigarettes. And for the first time in the last week, she finally saw him relax. His shoulders no longer hunched with tension, tired eyes were now lively. She was glad to see it. But it didn’t take long for it to slowly deplete again. He didn’t really engage in their conversations unless a question was directed at him. Elena wasn’t sure if Connie or Steve could sense it, but it was ringing loud and clear for her. This is what happens when he allows himself to get so caught up in his thoughts.
Before they knew it, it had already reached past 11:00 and with all of them expected at work in the morning, they decided to call it a night. Javier was the first to leave as Elena was exchanging final sentiments with Connie. She has already taken a great liking to the young woman. Vouching that they needed to have dinner again, and perhaps another time for just the two of them. Connie agreed wholeheartedly.
Another hasty goodbye between the women, an ‘I’ll see you tomorrow’ to Steve, and Elena was making her way down the stairwell. She pulled out her keys and strolled up to her apartment door. After what happened in Steve’s apartment, she found herself glancing over her shoulder a couple of times. The fucking American Embassy owned this building. One would think it would have better security. But of course, it doesn’t. As she began to mess with the locks, she turned her head to look at Javier’s door down the hallway. She paused to glance down at her watch then hummed to herself. There’s no way he’s asleep. He didn’t have much of a sleep schedule anyway, despite her telling him to get one.
She pushed open the door, stripped off her blazer and hung it on the coat rack. Then, she ventured into the kitchen and pulled open the fridge, pulled out two beers, then walked out of her apartment. She made the short trek down the hall and knocked on the door. Careening her head towards the door, she could hear calm footsteps approaching. When the lock was being fumbled with, she stepped back. The door opened enough for her to see Javier’s face peering out and he looked a little confused. In response, she raised the two beer bottles and smiled. “Beer talk.”
Javier huffed out a breath, his hand pinching the bridge of his nose. “You know it’s getting late.”
“Huh,” her head tilted to the side in thought. “Since when did you really care about how late it is.” She saw a ghost of a smile returning but it never made a full appearance.
Javier silently regarded her, he had the mind to tell her he was too tired. That he’d rather try and force himself to sleep. But the expectant smile on her face was enough to win him over. He stepped back and opened the door enough for her to slide in. “Not gonna lie, I was starting to get a headache about halfway through dinner.” Javier declared as he lazily walked into the kitchen.
“Well, then it’s a good thing I’m here.” Elena used her foot to kick the door closed, then followed her partner into the kitchen. “This should help you sleep tonight.”
Javier turned and leaned up against the counter, his hand washed down the side of his face, he barely managed to stifle a yawn. There was a part of her that did feel bad. He looked like shit. She knew that he hadn’t gotten much sleep in the past week. And with how bloodshot his eyes were, it was safe to say that his body was currently hating him for it.
She rolled onto her tiptoes a few times, suddenly feeling embarrassed. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. “If you really don’t feel good, I can leave, Javi.” She offered, her voice quiet and timid. “I just know this past week… you’ve been a little down.” Was that the right term to use? “I just thought maybe you’d want to talk.”
He appeared somewhat grateful. It was hard to tell given how tired he looked. Regardless, he shook his head and took the beer bottles from her. Elena sat on the counter next to him and took the bottle that was offered back to her. She allowed him to simmer in silence for a bit, her thumb tracing the rim of the bottle. It felt like she was going to set off a bomb for asking him, but she summoned the courage.
“Have you gone to see her?” She eyed him carefully, seeing the reaction that washed over his face.
Finally, he nodded. “Yeah, a couple of times.”
Elena exhaled a deep breath, not realizing that she had been holding it in. That was a promising start. “How’s she doing?”
“As good as one might expect.”
Elena really hoped that was the case. “Has the Ambassador signed off on her visa yet?”
“Given that she didn’t have the info--” Javier stopped, digging his teeth into his bottom lip. He shook his head before taking a big drink from his bottle. “I’m gonna try and talk with her again tomorrow.”
She took that as her answer. Fuck. “Don’t blame yourself, Javi.” Now, she felt like she was walking a very fine line with continuing to talk about it.
“She was trying to get info because I asked her to.”
“She made the choice to help you.” Elena clarified. “You didn’t force her to do anything. It’s not your fault and it’s not her fault either. The people whose fault it is… they’re dead. As they should be.” A rather grim declaration to make. But these were men who would gladly commit atrocious crimes for the right price. Who felt they were above everyone else. That they could treat everyone like shit. These people didn’t have an ounce of empathy from her. And if the average person experienced some of the things she’s seen down here, they would have the same fucked up outlook on life.
In an unguarded moment, Elena thought back to Cristina. The promise she had made to keep her safe and get her into the states as fast as possible. She had given Elena a tip that would have led them to one of Escobar’s sicarios. Word got out of the tip and delivered to Escobar. It happened so fast. Elena was on the other side of town following up on another lead, while Javier was the one who went to Cristina’s residence. He was the one who had to tell Elena what had happened. Something that he would never forget.
The corners of Elena’s lips twitched at the memory. A pit formed in her stomach causing her to finally take a drink from her beer. “You know the ones we take in as informants… they know it’s dangerous. They know that there’s always the possibility that it could catch up to them. And we can try to protect them as much as we can. But… there’s only so much we can do.” She glanced over at Javier, seeing that he was taking in her words, mulling over them. It’s never possible to fully protect another human being. “You got to her in time. She’s alive. And, hopefully, she’s going to be fine.”
She’s going to be fine. Yeah, he fucking hoped so. Javier silently stared down at the bottle in his hands before finishing off what was left. He eyed the empty bottle, not sure if it was all the alcohol he had drank tonight or the exhaustion, but the next words fell from his mouth before he could stop them. “You’re not responsible for what happened to Cristina either.” He cringed at himself the minute he said it. But he knew Elena well enough to know that the young woman has crossed her mind a few times this past week. How could she have not?
There was an odd peace that fell over her upon hearing those words. Granted, he’s said those words to her multiple times in the last five months. Yet, somehow, they hit a different nerve after hearing them now. She had come to peace with what had happened. Did she still feel guilty? Of course. Cristina had two young children who got left behind. She only wanted a better life for her kids. Now, they were going to grow up without their mother. Elena knew that this guilt will never go away. She was going to live with it for the rest of her life. “I know.” She finally answered. “I’ve finally been able to come to terms with what happened with Cristina. And you will come to your senses with this too.”
A thick silence followed soon after. The two of them normally don’t go this deep with their beer talks. Looking back, most of these talks involved with them throwing verbal punches at each other. Doing whatever it takes to rile the other one up. This talk was a big shift and she didn’t really mind it. And neither did Javier. Elena took a moment to check the time and it really was getting late. She scooted off the counter, took Javier’s empty beer bottle and disposed of it. Hers was still half full, she would finish it over at her apartment. She went to stand in front of him, he really looked to be on the verge of falling asleep right then. “I’m gonna head back.”
He nodded silently. “Nice talk.”
“I’m always here if you need it.”
He chuckled. “You know I’m not really one to indulge in this kind of stuff.”
“I know,” she smiled. “But it helps, doesn’t it?”
He didn’t answer her because she was right. It helps a lot. And she’s the only one who managed to get him to open up, even if it was only a little bit.
She saw his eyes begin to close, and she had to admit, he looked kind of adorable. Dozing off like that. Elena raised a hand and pressed it against his cheek, effectively snapping him back to reality. His eyes were glazed over and unfocused when they found hers. But her hand remained in place, her thumb brushing against his cheek. “Get some sleep, Javi. I’ll see you in the morning.”
That was new. That kind of physical contact. He wasn’t quite sure what warranted her to do it. But he’d be lying to himself if he said that he didn’t enjoy it. He felt himself barely lean into her touch just as she pulled her hand away. And he felt disappointed. A feeling that instantly confused him. It’s a good thing she didn’t notice it. Javier walked her to the door, trying to steady his heart. As she stepped out the door, Javier was finally able to gather his bearings. He peered his head out, watching as she made her way back to her apartment. “Goodnight, Ana.”
Elena stopped in front of her apartment door and turned back to look at him. Her lips stretching into a smile at him using his nickname for her. “Goodnight, Javi.”
With that, she disappeared into her apartment.
Javier closed and locked his door. Then, headed straight for his bedroom. The entire way his hand had rubbed at the cheek where her hand had been. It suddenly felt cold. That sense of longing started to creep back into his stomach. He shook his head. God, what are you doing, Pena? Maybe tonight he will get some decent sleep because he definitely needs it.

Y/n doesn’t know what it is, but the dreams about the bench atop the flowery hill continue to evade her dreams night after night. Every morning she wakes up, a new detail having just been discovered and needing to be added to the initial sketch that she had started two months ago. Although, there was a period of about two or three weeks where she hadn’t dreamt of the scene at all. She might have even forgotten about it all together had it not been one of the first pages in her book.
She stands at her locker, grazing her fingers over the indents of the heavier lines as though they were the actual real-life thing.
“That’s a nice drawing.”
A smile arises at the scratchy notes of his vocal cords.
“Why, thank you,” she chirps before closing the sketchbook and placing with precision on the second shelf. (She’ll be sure to work on it again later.) “Good morning!”
Harry raises his hand over his mouth to stifle a yawn. “Morning,” he barely rasps out. Slowly, he works his combination into the lock. As soon as it opens up, he tosses a bike helmet onto the locker floor.
“Did you bike all the way here?” Y/n gapes in surprise.
“It’s not that far. Mum’s away on business and Gem’s staying over at her boyfriend’s until she gets back.” After Gemma had dropped Anne off at John F. Kennedy Airport last night, she had texted Harry saying that she would be staying at Michal’s house for the rest of the week (they’re very serious, as his sister puts it). It’s not like he minds it all that much though, he quite likes having the house to himself as long as it doesn’t last more than a week.
***
Maybe he’d been a complete and utter arse in his past life, it’s the only explanation as to why he hasn’t been able to maintain appropriate stress levels for more than a few days. He really can’t help but wonder what he did to piss off the people upstairs because as soon as he had finally cleared the air between him and Y/n, this just had to happen.
Harry doesn’t like –– no, no, more like he hates –– Jasper Daniels with every ounce of his being, in fact.
And Harry doesn’t hate anyone! He’s always been pretty accepting of others, even when they’ve been jerks to him at times, but there’s just something about him that makes him want to take a football and aim it directly at the guy’s gut. What really gets his blood pressure going is how everyone, and really, he just means Y/n, thinks he’s the coolest person in the entire world. Sure, Jasper writes poetry and reads it to the elderly down at the senior center twice a week, and maybe he does play the violin like a professional out of the philharmonic orchestra. Other than that, there’s really nothing that special about him.
“He’s super hot, if you ask me,” Cici says, eyes as hazy as a dream while she admires the back of his head. “Like he’s totally got that Abercrombie model vibe going on.”
“I don’t know, that beanie makes him look dumb. Don’t you think it’s weird how he never takes it off?” Harry presses, glaring down as he shreds the remains of his chicken fingers, collecting them in a large pile on a nearby napkin. Even at lunch, where all he wants is to sit down and enjoy a meal, he can’t escape.
Cici looks at him knowingly, an almost evil smirk forming across her lips as she turns to her best friend. Maxxie kicks her under the table, desperately shaking his head as to tell her to stop, but she pushes forward anyway. “What do you think, Y/n? You know him better than I do.”
“Hm?” she hums, brows rising high before she can tear herself away from her sketchbook. “Jasper?” she asks when she looks up, Cici nods. “He’s really nice! When I went with him to his mom’s birthday, he–”
“Wait, what?” Harry drops the last bit of chicken. “Like-like as his date?” Who brings someone they’ve just met to a parent’s birthday party!? He’s known her for about three months now, and he has yet to introduce her to Anne and Gemma!
“I wouldn’t go that far,” she giggles, stealing a fry from Harry’s tray. “His mom knew I was making her cake, so she told Jasper to bring me along.” She takes a bite out of the fry, face contorting in displeasure as she clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth.
Harry slides her a packet of ketchup. “Here,” he mutters under his breath.
“Thank you!” she cheers happily, squeezing the entire thing onto the rest of his fries. “His parents are really nice! His mom is Filipino, so the food was so good! Have you guys ever had pancit? There’s a Fil-Am restaurant just off Main Street, we should totally check it out!”
“We should!” Cici agrees. “And maybe we should invite Jasper, just so we know what to get.”
Maxxie bites harshly on his bottom lip, daring to look at Harry, who he’s afraid might explode with any further provocation. “You know,” he starts, “I was actually hoping we could get ice cream!”
“It’s like forty degrees outside,” Cici deadpans.
“And is ice cream in forty-degree weather a crime or something?” Maxxie chuckles nervously. “Or what about sushi! If we leave right after bell, we can order in time to get the lunch special prices! Seven dollars for two different rolls? I mean, how do you beat that?”
***
“What are you doing?” Maxxie asks her as soon as he arrives at her table in the library. After being dismissed from Drawing, he had shouted a rushed goodbye to Y/n before running through Abbott Hall (even getting a demerit from Mrs. Murphy because he had slammed into her cart, causing all of her hydrogen chloride to spill onto the floor).
Cici doesn’t even look up from her homework. “Geometry,” she answers evenly.
He sighs, dropping his messenger bag by the foot of the table. He falls into the chair across from her, crossing his arms and pouting at her like an upset child who has just been refused dessert. “I meant, what the hell was that at lunch? I thought you liked Harry?”
“I do,” Cici says, but sighs immediately afterwards. She places her pencil gently down into the crease of her notebook. It’s not like she called him after midnight just to chat. Of course, she had every intent of helping the guy out. Their talk was so inspiring (she should really get an award for world’s best motivational speaker) that he went all the way to Y/n’s house not even twelve hours later. “But you didn’t see her after he kissed Zoey.”
“And you didn’t see him when she wouldn’t talk to him. I’ve never seen someone so miserable in his life,” he counters.
“Look...” She leans back in her seat and pulls on her ponytail and runs her fingers through all the knots. “I want them together as much as you do, but until then, let him suffer just a little bit. No one makes my best friend cry and not have to pay some consequence for it.
Maxxie blows raspberries into the air. “Hasn’t he agonized enough, though? He texted me like an hour ago and I could practically feel the tears in his text.”
“That’s–”
“Heartbreaking?”
“I was going to say ‘dramatic,” Cici snorts, returning her attention back to her assignment.
Rolling his eyes, Maxxie gets up. “Well you’re–”
“A stellar friend?”
“I was going to say, ‘slightly sadistic.’”
***
“I definitely would recommend the chicken adobo and lumpiang shanghai for first-timers,” Jasper says over Y/n’s shoulder as they all look at the food selections. Instead of choosing what he wants, however, Harry can’t help the scowl on his face as he looks at the two of them. Although, he’ll admit that everything behind the glass screen looks absolutely mouthwatering, or maybe it’s just that he hadn’t eaten much of his lunch earlier.
“Oh! Do they have pancit?” Y/n asks excitedly.
Jasper signals towards the woman behind the counter. “Ate, may pancit pa ba kayo?” (“Do you guys have any pancit left?”)
“Wait lang! Tingnan ko sa kusina.” (“Just wait! I’ll check in the kitchen.”)
Harry squeezes between Y/n and Cici, earning him a whack in the arm from the latter when she stumbles into Maxxie’s side. “So, you’re bilingual?” he muses.
“Tri, actually,” Jasper shrugs as though he isn’t impressing everyone around him. “My grandma was a high school German teacher, so I’m pretty good at conversational talk.”
The smile that lands itself on Harry’s mouth couldn’t be any more strained, the muscles in his cheeks slowly starting to ache. “That’s...that’s great!” he exclaims through gritted teeth. Of course, how could he expect anything less? Turning to Maxxie, his expression falters. “Isn’t that just great?”
The blonde boy nods all too cautiously. “Yeah,” he draws out, switching places with Cici. He leans in just enough to whisper in his ear. “Are you sure you don’t want to leave? My mom’s just at the Shop Rite right around the corner.”
Harry can sense the panic in his tone, just as Maxxie can feel how the air that surrounds him might just be a little too stuffy for the five of them. However, he chooses to brush off the suggestion. There’s no way he’s leaving, only to give rise to an opportunity for Jasper to make a move in his absence. “Is that chocolate?” he asks, pointing to a dark, almost black dish with lumps of unknown floating at the top.
The woman behind the counter laughs loudly, bending over backwards and clapping her hands repeatedly. “Tsokolate daw!” (“Chocolate!”) she blurts out with a giggle, wiping a tear from along her lash line. “This is dinuguan. It’s like a pork blood stew. Very delicious!”
“Oh, that’s um...” Harry turns his head to the side, both Y/n and Jasper’s eyes trained on him. It’s like the next words to come out of his mouth are being anticipated by the masses, and one wrong move may lead to the ultimate humiliation in front of her.
“Hey, man,” Jasper starts, “it’s okay if you’re not up for it. Some Filipino food can be a little daunting for first-timers.”  His hand lands itself around Y/n’s shoulders when he squeezes in the already tight space that lingers between them. “This one saw the lechon at my mom’s party and almost fainted. She wouldn’t even go near it!”
“Excuse me!” she gasps. “But that was a whole pig on the dining table!” She cups her face, shaking her head as she relives the vivid memory over again.
None of this amuses Harry. Not one bit. The more he thinks about how close these two have become in just a short amount of time –– probably even less than when he and Y/n had first met –– feels like his insides are being wrung like a wet towel. “You know what, give me the blood stew.”

During Algebra, Harry can’t stop himself from glancing her way every couple of minutes. There’s nothing in particular that he wants –– besides for Jasper Daniels to disappear off the face of the earth –– that is going to have to wait, unfortunately. She just has this thing about her, like the way she crinkles her nose when she’s in full-mode concentration, to the way she bites on her tongue when Mr. Daughtry calls on another student when she’s had the answer solved in a fraction of the time, that constantly reels him in. He doesn’t think he’s ever met someone both adorable and attractive bundled into one body.
“Do I have something on my face?” she cocks a brow up. She’s tried to ignore the feeling of his eyes boring into her skull, but she lost the battle with herself that had restrained the desire to gaze back into the emeralds he has for eyes.
“No,” he’s quick to answer back, quietly though (he doesn’t want Mr. Daughtry to have him go up to the board). “It’s just...”
Y/n quirks her head. “Just?”
“It’s nothing,” he gulps, tugging lightly on the knot of his tie. He faces the front of the room and jots down the newest equation on the board, his jaw muscles tense under his skin.
The silence that suddenly arises on his end makes her weary of his thoughts. She gives him one last narrowed look before deciding it would be wiser to let it go. Sometimes letting it go can save an overly curious mind, even one as active as hers. Just this morning, Jeremy had berated her for being too nosey when he had dragged a large box in from the garage. “Don’t you have to be in school or something? Sheesh! Can’t a guy live peacefully without his daughter hounding him? What is this? ‘Ask Dad a million questions’ day?” And all she had asked was if he wanted some help (her dad isn’t much of a lifter).
Pretending to be completely taken with solving for ‘x,’ Harry finally breathes out a softly spoken answer, one barely above a faint murmur. “You’re just really pretty, is all.”
Y/n’s pencil scrapes across the entire page just as she’s about to put a dash across the stem of her seven.
“What did you just say?” Had her ears heard that right? There’s no way she could have mistaken it! Does he really think that? She can practically feel a fire spread across her cheeks and internalize all the way to her erratic heartbeat.
“Fifty! I said the answer might really be fifty.”
Disappointment settles on her features. “Oh.”
***
Things might have taken a turn for the worse for her today. First and foremost, she thinks she might have to get her hearing checked. Second, she received a text from her dad during cheer practice saying that he wouldn’t be able to pick her up on time because Mason’s parent-teacher conference is running behind schedule, and that she should get a ride home with Cici. Well, she wishes she could’ve read his message before Cici had driven off with her brother. She could always wait for her mom to come fetch her, but Olivia’s office doesn’t close until seven today since so many of her patients are coming in with broken brackets (the few weeks after Halloween are always the busiest, apparently).
Y/n sighs, looking down at the time on her phone screen, 5:09 PM, great.
She stands just outside the main entrance, carefully thinking through what she should do now. The school grounds are completely abandoned. With the cold weather comes darker skies earlier in the day, and there’s no way she’ll be able to walk home by herself now that the sun is barely visible above the horizon.
Maybe she will just wait for her mom. The library is open until eight, after all.
“What are you still doing here?”
She nearly jumps out of her skin. “Where the heck did you come from?” she screeches, hand flying over her heart.
“Sorry,” Harry apologizes. “I just got out of the locker room. Coach kept me and a few others to talk strats for the championships next week.”
“My mom can’t pick me up till after seven, so I was just going to head to the library,” she replies sadly.
Harry looks back towards the building, a crease forming above the bridge of his nose. “It’s a bit late for you to be here by yourself,” he notices.
“There are probably still people insi–”
“I can bring you home.”
Her lips purse together at his suggestion. A strong gust of wind hits her behind her, her hair blowing around the perimeters of her face. “Is your sister back home?” she wonders while she attempts tame the loose strands.
“Well, no,” he says, a slight hint of embarrassment dripping off the last syllable. “But my bike can hold us both. C’mere.” Taking her hand in his, he leads her towards the bike rack, where his bike stands alone. “See, you can sit right here!” He points to the long top tube just in front of the seat.
“Is it safe?” she can’t hide the apprehension of her tone. Her other hand slides over the cool metal, and her fingers curl around the tube as though to test its durability.
“Completely. And besides...” He takes the helmet tucked under his arm, then places it gently on top of her head. “I would never let anything happen to you.” He sheepishly grins when he realizes how cute she looks.
She touches the top of her head, unable to keep her lips from turning upwards. A soft giggle escapes her as she buckles the chin strap tightly. Harry’s smile only grows wider, and he eagerly swings a leg over the other side and kicks the stand up.
“Take a seat then, milady,” he says with a wink.
Thank god she hadn’t needed to bring so many things in her bag home. She fixes the skirt of her cheer uniform before sliding her bottom over the side of the tube. When she’s finally able to settle on a comfortable position (her choices are limited) she looks to her side. What she hadn’t expected was for his face to be so close hers, the tips of their noses brushing against each other. His eyes stare into her briefly, before shifting a few inches lower, lips parting on their own accord.
Y/n quickly turns her head the other way and swallows. “So, are we leaving now or what?”
His arms envelop either side of her as they grasp tightly on the handlebars. If her cheeks hadn’t already been slightly flushed from the cold air, she’s sure they would be a forbidden shade of pink from the way the inside of her chest refuses to calm itself.

As they stroll along Main Street, she soon realizes that maybe –– and just maybe –– she really likes being this close to him, especially when she can feel the puffs of each of his warm breaths on her cheek and on the back of her neck. The tingles reach all the way down to her toes, and she has to remind herself that she can’t fidget too much, or else they might topple over.
“Do you want to stop by Hidden Grounds?” he asks her, slowing down at the store’s front. “I could go for a rose chai.”
“I love Hidden Grounds!” she exclaims, ardently nodding. “But it’s my turn to pay, okay?”
Harry chuckles, shrugging his shoulders as he cuts across the sidewalk and parks next to the building. She hops off and waits patiently as he fishes his chain from inside his backpack. “Just a sec,” he mumbles, eyes brightening when the back of his hand grazes over it.
“No problem,” she muses. After he secures his bike to the railings, he turns to her, dimples set in as he signals to the front.
They’re shocked to see the coffee house being as packed as it is. Almost all of the tables are occupied, and by students from Ashwood, nonetheless! Y/n tenses when she sees Zoey sitting in the far corner with her minions. The redhead spots them, her face contorting as she whispers to the girl on her left. “Hey, Harry!” she yells over the combination of loud voices and music. “Want to join us?” But Harry rolls his eyes, choosing to ignore her. And he thought he had managed to shake her off him. He and Y/n try their best to swerve around the crowds of people to get to the register. Hopefully, they’ll be able to be in and out for a to-go order in less than ten minutes.
As a chair loudly screeches across the floor, Harry swiftly pulls Y/n against him before a particularly rambunctious individual (Mark Jeffries from the wrestling team) can back into them. “Watch it, man,” Harry chides, still holding her close. Both her hands fall just below his bent elbows, her cheek pressed up against his chest. Her eyes are wide when Mark stands up, towering over both of them like a skyscraper. Yet, Harry is completely unfazed. “You nearly knocked her over.”
Mark glowers at him, but leaves it be when he sees the manager come up behind them. “Sorry,” he mutters to her, then signs to his friends to follow him out the door.
Y/n touches Harry’s shoulder. “Let’s go order?” She looks up at him with a soft expression. The harshness in his eyes immediately dissolves and he nods. She turns in his hold, her hands landing atop of his that are on her hips, so not to lose him in the tight spaces. Harry doesn’t bother to hide his elation as they move in sync to the front counter.
***
It’s a quarter before six when they finally make it to her house. Y/n invites him inside to drink their beverages before the tea fully cools down, and he’s more than happy to accept her offer. The ride from the coffee house to her home had been uneventful, but it still managed to make Harry’s heart skip a beat whenever she’d turn to look at him when she had something to say. He thinks he’ll offer to take her home more often.
They find Mason in the living room, Mulan playing on the TV. He’s just at the part where all of China bows down to the heroine. “Mason...” Y/n sings, putting her finger up to her lips when she briefly glances at Harry from over her shoulder. “I have a surprise for you!”
When the little boy cranes his head back to his sister, he’s instantly filled with glee when he sees his new best friend right beside her. “Harry!” He jumps up and runs to him with lightning speed into Harry’s ready arms. “You’re here again?” he gasps when Harry picks him up.
“Of course!” Harry says firmly. “I told your sister that you and I still had to watch Lilo & Stitch together.” He reaches into the takeaway bag in Y/n’s hand and pulls out a smaller bag. “And I even got you a movie snack.” Mason bounces excitedly when he peeks inside. “Brownies!” he cheers. “Thanks, Harry!”
Just as they take a seat on the island stools, Jeremy frantically rushes in. His face full of surprise when he sees his daughter home so soon (he had been upstairs and thought someone might have broken into the house).
“How’d you get here so fast?” he questions.
“Harry gave me a ride,” she answers, taking a sip from her cup. “Yes! It’s still hot!”
Jeremy looks to the boy next to her. “You drive?”
“No, sir,” Harry shakes his head. He seats Mason in the chair on the other side of him “I do have a bike, though.”
“A bike...” the older man repeats. He walks around the island to stand closer to Harry. “What kind of bike?”
Harry licks along his top lip as he places his cup down. “Um...” he thinks. “Just a regular bike, I guess.”
“Describe it.”
“It’s silver!” Y/n offers after she swallows another mouthful of chai.
“Yeah,” Harry agrees. “I’ve had it for like a year now. I think it’s a cyclocross, maybe a hybrid.”
“What else?”
“Well, I put this Packers sticker on the–”
Jeremy slams his hand down on the table, causing both teens to jump in their seats (Mason is too taken with his brownie to notice). “Did you just say Packers?” He closes his eyes, and a curled fist rises solemnly to his lips. When what sounds like a sniffle erupts from him, Harry and Y/n look at each.
“Dad?” Y/n asks, almost pleading. “Are you okay?”
Her father nods his head, suddenly turning to face away from them. “Harry,” he croaks. “Would you...”
Another sniffle sounds from him. Mason looks at his sister, confusion written all over his face. “What’s wrong with Daddy?” But she honestly can’t say she knows what’s going on. Meanwhile, Harry isn’t sure if he should leave. Was it something he said?
“Would you...” he starts up again. “Would you like to stay for dinner?”
Harry’s jaw drops.
“Uh...” But he’s completely out of words at the moment, mostly because he truly thought he was about to get thrown out. It’s no question, he’s getting a little fed up with the prepped meals that Anne had left him, and the look on both Y/n’s and Mason’s faces only encourages him further.
With his pause, it’s quiet enough to hear the television in the next room. “Would you like to stay forever?”
“Yeah,” he smiles, “I’d love to.”

I will indicate in a chapter if there is smut in the beginning and before the actual scene!!
I will add trigger warnings if there is any!!
There is a variety of levels of swearing during a chapter, I will not hold back, everyone swears.

Cillian's brother dropped them at the airport before he bid farewell to them both. It was another early morning start but they had to get home as early as possible so Gabrijela could start packing and figuring out what to send via post. They checked in, wandered around the airport for a bit and ate before they headed through to the boarding gate. As they sat and waited, Cillian had his arm around her shoulder, his cheek against her head that rested on his shoulder.
She scrolled through her Instagram, she remembered he had caught her on her fandom account and she was red-faced when she showed him what she posted. It was a multifandom account, and she posted various textposts, fan art and the like of her favourite books or TV Shows. "Still makes me chuckle you posted such old photos of me with those funny captions or whatever you'd call them." Cillian murmured. She rolled her eyes, "Shut up. I was and still am a dedicated fan!" "Well, now you are more than a fan to me." He pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Mhm." She tilted her head back and kissed him softly before she resumed her scrolling. But before she was going to tuck her phone away she came across a photo in the explore section of the app. "Oh, good god." She whispered in shock, "Cilly look." She showed him a photo of them both. It was more distanced but blurry so you couldn't make it out who she was really. It was when they were waiting at the airport coming to Cork. "Who took it?" He looked at it, frowning. He knew she wouldn't post anything of their relationship online, they had a talk about it and she was super respectful about it. "No idea. Just says someone had taken it. Maybe it's from Twitter." She felt worry ease into her. She hoped there weren't other sneaky photos of her and Cillian online. She never really said she was going overseas to her online fanbase either, just to her close friends back at home and the ones she made at Uni. "I'm sorry." He said as he ran his hand up and down her arm. "What for?" She looked up at him, confused as to why he would apologise. "For that." He gestured to the photo, "I should have been more thoughtful of those things." He began to let her go. "Cillian, no. Hey," she took his hands as she faced him, "I knew that something like this would happen on the end. I don't want it to ruin what we have." She didn't want him holding back on her when they were out in public. "I don't want you to be plastered all over the internet, either." He squeezed her hands. "I mean, my face is already on the internet. My accounts are not private." She shrugged. "I'll take a look on Twitter but... It doesn't bother me much. Unless you don't want the word going out about you being with someone." "I don't really like the idea of people being too into someone else's life. I'm just concerned about how it would be interpreted by everyone." He said. "Mm. I agree. They can be quite cruel. I've seen how people can react to their idols being with someone else... But again, Cillian, I don't want to like... Not be romantic when we are out in public. I want us to be just us, holding hands and all that. I couldn't care less what online haters would think about." She cupped his jaw. "Are you sure?" He asked. "I am. I can handle it. Besides, if there is an issue, who cares hm? They don't know us." She kissed him lightly. "If you say so." He said as his arm went back around her and they resumed their position. He would still be worried either way.   It was time to board and they detached themselves from each other and picked up their bags. They lined up with the other people, holding hands. She would not let the online images hurt them. When it came to showing affection, she didn't want to hide it. "Um, excuse me," Someone tapped Gab on her shoulder. She turned to see three girls looking at them keenly, "Are you dating Cillian?" She asked, eyes darting to their held hands and to Cillian who also turned to see them. They seemed quite surprised at the sight of Gabrijela, she could see it in their eyes. Cillian had replied instead, "We are. Why do you ask?" "There are rumours online, uh, photos popping up. The fans are uh, going crazy about it. Kinda a big deal, cause no one um... well expected..." She trailed off when Gab and Cillian turned away to get through the gates. Gabrijela gave Cillian a little giggle as they stepped through and headed down the hallway. "Seems like more photos." He said, frowning deeply. "It's fine Cillian, don't stress." She squeezed his hand. They got into the plane and took their seats, this time he was beside the window. The whole ordeal started up again but Cillian comforted her, and she settled faster with his gentle and caring words. She cuddled him throughout the trip, the turbulence was pretty bad as they went through a storm. He wrapped his jacket around her shoulders and made the scarf that she stole from him as a pillow on his shoulder. But after an hour and a half or so, they landed safely and got off the plane. The girls that spoke to them before seemed to follow them. "We got a bit of a party following us," Gabrijela said to Cillian as they headed towards the many taxis that waited. He glanced over his shoulder and chuckled, "It seems so." He hailed down a taxi and got their stuff into the boot before he held open the door for her. "Tough they won't see much anymore." She laughed and got into the car and he got in after her. It was nice to be back home now, they headed upstairs and she laid on his bed, "Ooooo," She groaned, "Cillys bed... So good." She giggled as he crawled up over her, laying down on her but not enough to crush her. He kissed her neck, "You miss it?" He asked. She giggled, "Yeah I did." She turned so she was now looking up at him. She leaned up and kissed him, "We gotta keep moving though. I have to go back to the apartment to pack up the remaining things there and clean up." He nodded and got off her. They had a quick bite before they headed over to her apartment. They packed up whatever she had left behind into his car before they cleaned up the place. She threw out most of the old food that was left behind. The apartment was just like how she came to it. She had taken off the sheets to and left them as a neat pile. She left a wonderful card and a wine behind for the owner of the apartment before she finally said goodbye to the place. Heading back to Cillian's home, she spent it packing up her stuff. But she kept most of her souvenirs in her suitcase all wrapped up in clothing. She didn't want to send it via parcel. She had packed the majority, leaving out her new set of clothing for tomorrow. Every other bits and piece was easy to just shove into her carry-on. Cillian came up the stairs to see how she was going, "Damn you are quick," He said. "Yeah. Just need a scale to weigh the bag." She said. "Got it." He went to the wardrobe and pulled out the scale. They weighed and she had some more room to add a few more clothing in. Now she had two small piles of clothing to send off. "Let's head to the post office now." She said and they headed off. They did what they had to do, and she made sure she was to pay for the fees of the parcel. Since it was a nice day, Cillian decided to take her out to St. James' park to have brunch. He had a blanket in the back and they headed in a nicer part of the park, a little secluded. They set up and Cillian went to a nearby cafe he liked to buy them food. In the meantime, Gabrijela spoke to her dad on the phone and listened to him ask if she had everything packed and whatnot. He would call her in the morning before she would leave as well. She laid back on the blanket, a hand over her tummy. She listened to the hum of the city and the voices of people around her. Cillian returned with a bag, "I'm back. Bit of a hold-up but I'm here." He grinned as he sat down beside her. She sat up, "Thanks babe," She smiled and helped him take the stuff out. "Whatcha get?" "I got us both eggs and bacon, I got you hot chocolate as well. I also got capers for myself." He said. "Thank you," She leaned over and kissed him deeply. "Love you." "Love you too," He said and pecked at her lips before they both dug into their food. They finished up and Cillian disposed of their rubbish before he came back and they laid back together. She snuggled close to his chest, his arm around her shoulders. "I'm gonna miss this," She said, stroking his chest. "Same." He played with her hair, running his fingers through it. "You gonna miss me?" She looked up at him. "Of course I will. So much." He cupped her face. "I will make sure we can talk as much as possible, video and all." She said, leaning up to kiss him. "Sounds good." He murmured, kissing her back. They held each other for a bit like that, totally in their own world as they kissed slowly. They finally broke apart and packed up before he went back to the car to leave the blanket and came back to her. They took a walk around the park and Cillian listened to her talk about how she was going to dread going back in for the last year of her University course. "I've been doing good in my game design as well, so I might see if I can get into that." She said. "Not costume designing?" Cillian asked. "Dunno, I enjoyed it but... I was quite stressed. I don't like the feeling." She laughed softly. "But I'll see." They came back to the car and headed home. When she stepped through the door, Cillian closed it and then pulled her against him. She gasped, "What are you doing?" She laughed as he began to pepper her neck with kisses. "Kissing you." He said, his hands resting on her hips before they snaked up to cup her breasts. "I think you want more than kisses, babe." She moaned softly as he gripped them tightly. She was pushed up against a wall, "Cilly." He kept fondling her breasts, then began to unbutton her blouse and discarded it aside. She smirked and pushed her ass against his crotch, then began to grind against him. "Mmm babe, you like that huh?" She purred. His hands returned to her hips, "I do. Keep doing that love." He watched how she moved against him, his hands now moved back up her sides before he turned her around and kissed her deeply, his fingers tangling in her hair. She moaned as she gripped his shirt, lifting it up before she pulled it over his head. "I want... I want you to use something on me." She blushed, running her hands down his soft skin along his arms. "Yeah? What is it?" He kissed her again. "It's in the bedroom. Let's go there." She took his hand as he picked up their shirts and headed upstairs. She opened up her suitcase and pulled out a black bag. Then she held out an eight-inch long vibrator that was a sparkly purple. "I'm going to be honest, I've never seen them in person." Cillian laughed as he came over, taking it from her. "No?" She raised a brow, "Then where did you see it? In porn?" She brushed past him and laid on the bed, smirking. "Maybe." He chuckled and turned to her, "So you want me to tease you with this?" He turned it on. "Yeah." She nodded, parting her legs despite still got her pants on. He brought it to her crotch, and held it against her and watched how she let out a moan. "Mmm, let's take off these pants first." He said as he waited for her to take her jeans off and throw it aside. He got on the bed, kneeling between her legs as he returned the vibe to her core. She sucked in a breath, gripping the sheets. He had it on a low setting, stroking her up and down through her panties. "Ah..." She laid back, eyes closed as she enjoyed the feeling. "Cilly..." "We should turn it up now, don't want you to enjoy this too much." He said and turned it even higher. She gasped, bringing her legs up. "No, keep them down." He pinned them between his thigh and calves. She whined. Cillian continued to tease her, letting the tip roll over her clit which caused her back to arch then he dragged it back down and then inserted the toy into her. He pushed her leg open with one hand, eyes flicking from her core to her face. "God, Gabrijela." He loved the pleasure on her face, the need and desperation in her eyes. "Cillian! Please! I'm close!" She whined, twisting the sheets in her hands. "Not yet, love. Hold on for me." He said and pushed the toy in and out of her. He let go of her legs and leaned down, and wrapped his lips around her clit and began to suck hard. Her hands shot into his hair, the vibrations of the toy was intense and he kept pushing it against her g-spot. "Fuck! Cillian! Cilly!" She bucked her hips, her screams loud as she came, arching right off the bed. He kept going till she was done, groaning softly as he pulled the toy out, seeing how slick it was with her climax. "Fastest climax ever." He chuckled, kissing up her thigh to sit back. She panted, "I need you in me, Cillian. Oh god." She shook her head. "Mm, but you asked me to use this on you. So I will." He mused, "Lay on your side." She moved to her side as he got behind her, an arm went under her head and locked around her chest. He brought the vibrator back to her clit and began to tease her once more. "N-Not right after a climax! Fuck!" She stayed still for him, she wanted to be good for him. But she couldn't help but buck her hips. "Be still, love. Don't move too much." He kissed her neck, sucking on a spot. She whimpered, clinging to his arms that were around her, god he was relentless as he continued to prod and poke her sensitive clit. But then he decided to push it into her and she arched her back a little. "Cillian!" He claimed her lips once more and kissed her as he thrust the vibrator inside her, she was super slick so it moved in and out swiftly but he could feel when she clenched her walls the vibe got stuck. Gabrijela reached up and dragged her fingers through her hair, "I need you, Cillian, I want you inside me. Please." She begged, rolling her hips. "Yeah? How bad?" He tugged on her bottom lip. "Really bad, Cilly. Please don't make me wait." She could feel his hard cock press against her ass through his jeans. He let out a grunt and got her to hold the vibrator inside her as he pulled off his pants. Then he was back up against her, and removed the vibrator, "Tuck me in, love." He nibbled on her earlobe. She reached between her legs and found his waiting cock, "So hard, baby." She giggled and positioned him to her entrance. Then she tugged him and he was inside her in one swift movement. They both moaned in unison, "Hold your leg up, Gab." He kissed her neck then to her shoulder. She lifted her leg up and he placed the vibrator back on to her clit. She cried out softly, and he felt her walls tighten around him. "Mmm fuck, Gabrijela. Do that again." She nodded and clenched her walls, she could feel every hard inch of him, especially when he started to move. "Shit." She gasped. He kept his eyes focused on her face, enjoying how tight she was and how he managed to drag those cute little sounds from her. He thought about how lucky he was to have her as his girlfriend. He had wished for someone to come into his life and here she was. Here they were, making love. He loved her, truly, he loved her. He could not bring himself to think of any other woman but her. And his heart would hurt when she was no longer warming his bed. Gabrijela looked up, seeing the pure love and devotion in his eyes. "Cillian, I love you." She said through a moan, "I love you so much! Oh!" She could feel her climax start to build again, and this one was gonna be a big one. "I love you too, beautiful. Oh fuck, I love you!" He kissed her hard, pounding hard into her, the bed shaking a little. He will miss her. So he threw aside the vibrator, turning it off and laid her on her back and pushed right back into her with a groan. Her legs locked around his thighs and her arms around his back, her nails digging into his skin. "Fuck! Mark me Gabrijela, fuck." He cursed and kissed her again as her nails scraped down his skin. He moved fast and wild, all he wanted was to please her. Make sure she would feel this for days when she would return back to her home. "Mine!" He cried out, "You're mine, Gabbie." "All yours baby. I'm all yours." She cupped his face and kissed him passionately but it was messy as from his fast thrusting. "I'm gonna cum, Cilly. Oh god, don't stop. Oh please!" Cillian worked hard, panting hard, his moans loud and cracked occasionally before they got faster and faster before his climax tore through him like wildfire. She screamed out his name as she came with him, she felt his warm load fill her inside up as she clenched and locked him in as she finished with him. After some moments they calmed down, but he stayed on top of her and inside her. His head was tucked into her neck and kissing her flushed skin. She ran her hands up and down his back slowly, admiring the curves of his spine and the divots of his muscles in his shoulders. "My handsome man," She whispered, her fingers returning to the nape of his neck and playing with the soft curls of his hair. He let out a soft chuckle, "My beautiful woman." He said as he raised his head to look at her. "My love." He touched her cheek, stroking her skin with a thumb. "I love you with all my heart, Cillian." She said, leaning into the touch. He gave her that breathtaking smile and they kissed for some time, and when they managed to get their breath back they got back into lovemaking. It was slow and gentle, then hard and fast with many different positions. Any position that had her against his body. After they have worn each other out, they bathed and then spent the rest of the afternoon together in his home. He pulled out his guitar and sang for her, then made her the best dinner ever, watched a cute romantic film before they drank red wine in front of the fire. They never parted from each other, every minute they wanted to be close. And despite being worn out, they made love one more time in front of the fire. She rode him till he came twice in her before he lifted her up and carried her to bed. He laid her down and they cuddled naked, she faced him and snuggled into his chest. Today was a wonderful day, and she would remember it forever. "I love you," She said in the dark. "I love you too," Cillian replied, kissing her head before they both fell asleep holding each other.

“Nice To Meet You Too”-Connor Murphy X Reader (Soulmate AU)
Word Count: 4,164
A/N: Hey everyone! It’s been a hot minute but here’s my second fic, I made the reader gender neutral so more people could enjoy it! Thank you to everyone who reads this and everyone who read my last fic, it is very much appreciated! Hope you have an amazing day! :)
Everyone was born with a tattoo on their inner left wrist with the first words their soulmate would ever say to them. These tattoos would disappear after the words had been said. Some people just had a simple “Hello!”s or “Excuse me!”s and nothing else, others had things such as totals from various purchases and what not but you were lucky, yours included your soulmate’s name. It read, “Uh, I’m Connor, nice to meet you too.” Connor. It was a lovely name but there were also a lot of people named Connor which led to you constantly getting your hopes up.  You always went out of your way to introduce yourself to people named Connor and probably looked a little insane while doing so.  A few of your friends had met their soulmates in elementary school but as high school went on more and more people were meeting their partners for life while you were still alone. You became a little discouraged but knew that yours was out there and you were going to meet them eventually. Then came some of the best and worst news of your life. You were moving out of state at the end of junior year a couple of weeks after school got out. You were partially overjoyed because you had already interacted with every single Connor in your area but it also meant you were leaving your home of almost eighteen years. Your junior year went by faster than you would have liked and the time came to say goodbye to your childhood best friend Quinn. They came over to help your family pack as they were like the second child your parents never had and once the last box was put into the U-HAUL truck the two of you broke down crying and gave one another the biggest hug.
Once the breakdown was finished you gave each other one last tear-filled smile before you got into the front seat of your parents’ car and pulled out of the driveway of your childhood home. As you were sitting in the passenger seat with your earbuds in you though of Quinn and how you met. The two of you were in the same preschool, on the first day during playtime you were sitting alone and they came up and declared you two were going to be best friends for forever and the rest was history. You were indeed best friends and were almost never seen without the other. You soon became sad so decided to try and think of something else. You knew Quinn was going to be okay because they had recently met their soulmate so they weren’t going to be alone during this transition period for the two of you. You, on the other hand, were not so sure how you were going to cope. Sure facetime was a thing that existed but it definitely wasn’t the same as Quinn just busting into your house at random times and your parents just being okay with it. You slowly fell into a dreamless sleep for the majority of the rest of the trip.
When you woke up again your mom informed you that you were just about two hours from your new home. You got out at the gas station you were currently stopped at and went to the bathroom and got a few snacks for you and your mom to share. You started to stare out the window and soon your thoughts went to your soulmate, Connor. You hoped that you were going to get to meet him soon as this was currently the only thing keeping you going. You finally arrived at your new house about an hour before sunset. You and your parents began to unload everything from the U-HAUL truck. It took a lot longer without Quinn and you ended up having to finish in the dark. While your dad was returning the truck you and your mom decided to unpack the necessities then leave the rest for tomorrow. When your dad came back the three of you decided to get something to eat and just drive around the town.
You got food from Mcdonalds and took in the sights of your new home. It was a nice town, not too big or small, it looked like there were a lot of things to do and places to eat. The last stop on your sightseeing tour was the town’s high school. It looked a lot bigger than your previous school and you thought that building was hard to navigate so you could tell this was going to be a nightmare. On your way home you noticed a park right by your house. You could tell just by looking at it that it would be the perfect place to walk to at 3 AM when you couldn't fall asleep and just wanted to forget about all your troubles. Once you got home you found the box with your sleeping bag and pillow in it and found your new room. You set up your sleeping bag in your empty room, your furniture wasn’t supposed to arrive for a few days so you were stuck sleeping on the floor for the time being. You stared up at the textured ceiling and tried to fall asleep because you knew tomorrow was going to be filled with loads of unpacking but for some reason, you just couldn’t so you were going to call Quinn to just check in but decided against it since you remembered they were hanging out with their soulmate tonight. So you did what you always did when Quinn wasn’t available, imagine what your soulmate looked like. You really didn’t care what ‘Connor’ looked like it was just fun to try and put a face to a name. Slowly you fell into a dreamless sleep.
Your mother came into your room at about 8:30 so you could start unpacking. You finished the living room, kitchen, and bathroom before lunchtime.  You finished doing the rest of your house just before dinner time. You stood in your room, it was painted a nice light grey and you had hung up some of your posters and pictures and strung up your lights which made you feel more at home. Your dad called upstairs to tell you that he had picked up dinner on his way home from work. While the three of you were eating he talked about his new job, he was a lawyer and had gotten an amazing opportunity at a pretty well-known law firm, which is why you guys moved. He told you about his new office and some dick named Larry he worked with. Once dinner was finished the three of you talked for a couple of hours about how everyone was feeling about the move, as the conversation was winding down you felt yourself growing tired, you bid your parents goodnight went upstairs to bed. Thoughts of how you were going to arrange your room filled your head, the furniture was supposed to arrive the next afternoon and you couldn’t wait to finally finish setting up your room. That night you had a weird beauty and the beast-esque dream filled with talking furniture.
The furniture truck arrived around 12:30 that afternoon and you finished setting up your room at about 3, you decided to facetime Quinn to show them your new room. They helped you decide where to put a couple small things then after that the two of you just caught up, they told you all about how amazing their soulmate was and you couldn’t help but feel a small pang of jealousy, they asked about ‘Connor’ and you told them you hadn’t found him yet. You lied and told them your mom was calling so you could stop talking about soulmates cause it was making you upset.  After you got off the phone you and your mom decided to get lunch at a locally owned diner which made you feel a lot better about not finding Connor yet, before you went home you stopped at the grocery store and picked up somethings so you could begin making food in your own kitchen. Once you got home you decided to take a nap until dinner was ready. You woke up around 5:15 and saw that Quinn had sent you a message so you responded and told them about your lunch, just as you hit send on your message you heard your dad come in and your mom called up to you to tell you dinner was ready. Dinner was good and your dad said work was good which made you feel like maybe this move was a good thing.
The next morning your mom barged into your room and told you to get up and get ready to go tour your new school. You begrudgingly got up and dressed, you then went downstairs to meet your mom. The two of you headed out to her car and on the way put you grabbed some fruit so you wouldn’t be cranky during the tour. Once you arrived and found the main office you met your principal and she gave you your schedule and then introduced you to your tour guide, Alana Beck. She was very pretty and you could tell she was smart just by looking at her. Once your principal set you loose so the tour could actually begin Alana became much more talkative, not in a bad way, of course, it was nice to not have to worry about keeping the conversation going. As the tour progressed you felt your anxiety melting away, the building actually wasn’t that hard to navigate and your classes were easy enough to find. You and Alana found your way back to the principal’s office but before you went in Alana gave you her number that way if you had any questions about anything you could always text her. It was nice to know you already knew someone at school and wouldn’t be going in with a completely clean slate. You went into the office and said good-bye to Alana and your new principal. You walked out of that building feeling oddly calm. You and your mom went out to breakfast and you got one of your favorite diner foods. Your mom dropped you off at home after breakfast because she had to go to her first day at her new job.
You decided to walk down to that little park you saw on your drive around the town. You put in your earbuds and started walking. It took a little while for you to find it but you did eventually. When you arrived you saw that there was another person there. They were sitting on the swingset. You decided to walk around the block to try and avoid human contact at all costs. When you looped back around to the park you saw the tall figure still sitting on a swing. You were tempted to take another lap around the block but there was a feeling in your gut telling you not to. So you didn’t. You decided to just sit on the farthest swing from the person. You decided to sneak a peek. They had wavy brown hair that reached their shoulders and were wearing all black, just like you. You chuckled to yourself, maybe a little too loudly cause the person turned and looked at you. FUCK! FUCK, FUCK, FUCK! Why did I have to fucking do that! It wasn’t even that funny!” you thought to yourself. They continued to look at you. “Wow, they’re pretty. WAIT, not the time you idiot! Holy shit what do I do? Should I say something?! I should say something. Right?” before you could even contemplate what to do you felt yourself opening your mouth and saying “Sorry, I just noticed we’re both wearing black and thought it was kinda funny. Anyways, I’m Y/N. Nice to meet you.”, you awkwardly stuck your hand out for them to shake.
They hesitantly took it and said, “Uh, I’m Connor, nice to meet you too.” You swore you died right then and there, you could not believe your ears. The two of you just realized what happened and said “Holy shit” in perfect unison.
“HOLY SHIT!” you squealed. You ran over to Connor and gave him a gigantic hug, you could tell you scared him with this sudden physical contact but eventually hugged back just as tight as you. At some point, you had started crying out of pure happiness because OH MY GOSH you just met your soulmate! The two of you eventually pulled apart and you just looked at him and soaked in his beauty. You noticed that half of his left eye was a rich dark brown while the other half and eye were a light blue. You noticed how angular his face was and how nice his lips were.
“Soooooo,” he said in a very dragged out manner. “What do we do now?”
“I don’t know I’ve never met my soulmate before,” you say, hoping to lighten the tension. “I guess get to know each other if that’s cool with you.”
“Yeah sounds good. What do you want to know?”
“Why have I never seen you before?”
“I just moved here a couple of days ago with my parents. My dad got a good job opportunity at some law firm around here so we moved.”
“Wait is your last name L/N?”
“Yeah? How’d you know?” you asked, suddenly growing very aware of the fact you and Connor were alone in the park.
“Holy Shit, calm the fuck down. I’m not a creep I swear,” he said getting kind of angry with you, you guessed your internal freakout was showing on the outside. “My dad works at that law firm and mentioned something about a new hire.”
“Oh okay. Sorry for freaking out dude. It was just kinda weird that someone I just met knew my last name regardless if we were soulmates or not.” you said in a very sincere manner, you really didn’t want to mess up your relationship in the very beginning.
“It's all good, don't worry about it,” he says, tension leaving his body. “My last name is Murphy if you were wondering.”
“Well nice to finally meet you, Connor Murphy.”
“Nice to finally meet you too Y/N L/N.”
You and Connor sat in the park until dusk just talking about anything and everything. He told you about his family and how school was hell for him and you told him how anxious you felt moving here. Maybe it was because you were soulmates but the two of you just felt so comfortable around each other already. Before you left he gave you his phone number and you gave him a promise to text him. On the walk home, you felt as if you were walking on air. You quickly whipped out your phone and texted Quinn telling them all about Connor. They let you rant over text about him for most of your walk home, they were so happy for you. You decided to text Connor before you went into your house. As you were walking in the front door he texted you back and you had a gigantic dopey grin on your face. Your parents stopped talking as you walked into the living room, your mom asked, “What’s got you so happy?”
“Oh nothing,” you said over dramatically. “Just met my soulmate that’s all. No biggie,” you said shrugging your shoulders and biting your lip in an attempt to hold back your smile.
“Oh my gosh honey!” your mother said practically jumping over the couch to reach you. “When? How? Where? What does he look like?” she asked, barely breathing while doing so. You wanted to keep them in suspense for a little bit but decided against it as you didn’t want your mother bursting a blood vessel.
“Earlier today. After you dropped me off and went to work I decided to walk to that little park not that far from here and that's where I met him,” you said suddenly feeling shy about the whole thing, you weren't a fan of being bombarded with all these questions from your mother. Once you satisfied your mom with adequate answers you went up to your room and continued to text Connor. The two of you were planning your first date, well more like Connor was planning your first date because you didn’t know anything to do. Connor suggested getting dinner and seeing a movie in the town next to yours and you thought that was a lovely idea. The date was set for Saturday which was still a few days away from now lucky for you because it meant you had a couple of days to figure out your outfit and get advice from Quinn. You and Connor were texting for hours before you looked at the clock on your nightstand and realized that it was four in the morning, you bid Connor goodnight and went to bed with a stupid grin on your face.
When you woke up you immediately texted Quinn to tell them about your plans for this weekend. They were so happy for you and they agreed to help you pick out an outfit. You were on facetime for hours modeling different outfit choices before you picked one, it was casual but still looked like you were making an effort. Once the outfit situation was figured out you started talking about the actual date, you started freaking out a little bit because ‘oh my god’ what if he didn’t like you but Quinn was quick to reassure you that he was literally your soulmate and you two were meant to be together. You spent the next few days texting Connor and waiting for Saturday.
Finally, after much anticipation, Saturday arrived! You could barely sleep the previous night you were so excited. It was like the night before going on a big field trip in elementary school, you had your clothes laid out and made sure literally everything was perfect. You woke up early to get ready, you showered, did a face mask and painted your nails to kill time while waiting for Connor to pick you up. Once the time that was decided upon rolled around you saw a black truck pull up in front of your house. You didn’t even need the text saying he was here to know that it was Connor’s. You said goodbye to your parents and practically ran out to Connor’s truck. Once you reached it Connor told you to wait while he got out and opened the door for you with a blush on his face. He quickly went around to the driver's side and got in, he reached into the back seat and pulled out flowers which you found very sweet. “Ah so chivalry isn’t dead,” you said while laughing lightly.
“No it isn’t,” he said while smiling. The drive over was filled with the sound of a playlist Connor made, conversation was scarce as both of you were scared to mess this up. You pulled up to the restaurant and Connor quickly got out and opened the door for you again. You thanked him and fixed your disheveled outfit. The restaurant was a nice little diner with an ice cream place attached to it when you walked in Connor got the two of you a booth. The booth was in the back corner of the restaurant, the seats were a little worn down but still comfortable. Once the two of you got settled in, a nice middle-aged woman came over and got your drink orders, you guys looked over your menus and silently decided what you were going to get to eat. You decided you had enough of this awkward silence and started a conversation.
“Soooo, how was your day Connor?”
After that, the ice was broken and conversation between you two came naturally. You talked about things such as your favorite TV shows, movies, and books. The service was fast and soon after placing your order the food came and it was pretty good. Once your waitress dropped off the check at your booth Connor insisted on paying much to your dismay, after that two of you got some ice cream before heading to the movie theatre. This time Connor let you have the AUX Cord and you played some stuff from your favorite artist, he had only heard a couple of their songs so he asked you about them which resulted in you rambling about them for almost the entire 15-minute car ride to the movie theatre. Once you were done you had realized how long you’d been talking and started apologizing and blushing immensely. Connor only laughed and told you it was fine with a huge smile on his face, what he didn’t tell you is that he found it extremely cute. Once you arrived at the theatre you bought your tickets and headed in. Although you two just ate dinner you decide to get some stuff from the snack bar. After getting your snacks you found your theatre and settled into the somewhat uncomfy seats just in time for the previews to start. Neither of you were particularly interested in the movie but you still watched it nonetheless. About halfway through the movie Connor “smoothly” put his arm around your shoulders and you leaned your head into him. Now neither of you wanted the movie to end now but alas it had to, on your way out you grabbed Connor’s hand and didn’t let go until you had to to be able to get in the car but once you clicked your seat belts Connor reached across the center console and put his hand out for you to hold if you wanted to, and you wanted to. On the way home you talked about the movie then somehow you got on the topic of soulmate tattoos.
“Do you know how insane I went going out of my way to introduce myself to every single person named Connor?” you say while laughing. “I literally introduced myself to every single one of them in my old town and even the surrounding counties!”
“I’m sorry my parents named me something so basic I’ll be sure to scold them for it,” he says while pretending to be serious.
“I think I’ll have to fight them when I meet them!” you say still laughing. This is what cracks him and he begins to laugh with you.
“Oh my god please do!” he says with a gigantic smile on his face.
After that, the two of you calm down but still have dumb grins on your faces.
“How did you feel walking around with the stupid thing I said to you on your wrist for seventeen years?”
“It was comforting knowing my soulmate was an emo piece of shit like me,” he says with a grin.
“Hey! I’m not emo! I just happen to like the color black,” you say pouting.
“Okay whatever helps you sleep at night sunshine,” he says with an overdramatic eye roll. After that, the two of you fell into a comfortable silence which was nothing like the one on the ride over. Sooner than you would’ve liked Connor pulled up in front of your house.
 “Here we are”
“Yup,” you say, not wanting to get out just yet. “Thank you for tonight I had a really amazing time.”
“Of course,” he says, turning to look at you. Once he does so a small smile appears on his pretty face. You decided this would be a good note to leave on, you reluctantly let go of his hand and began to collect your things. You look at Connor and don’t know what possesses you but you give him a kiss on the cheek.
“I’ll text you tomorrow, okay?” you ask, your cheeks on fire from what you had just done.
“Mhm, sounds good,” he says, barely above a whisper. Face beat red, he puts his hand up to the place you had just kissed. “Good night Y/N.”
“Good night Connor,” you say while opening the door of his truck. You shut the door and smile at him and walk up to your front door. You wave at him to let him know you got in okay and as a final goodbye for the night. Your parents were out for the night so you didn’t have to deal with your mom’s bombardment of questions about the date until breakfast the following morning. You went upstairs and changed into your pajamas, still smiling. You texted Quinn and let them know how perfect the date went, making sure to let them know every single detail. That night you dreamed of Connor, your future together and how happy you were to meet him.

can u take requests??? if yes, a fic where clarke is cheerleader and bellamy is quarterback and they are the power couple of the school and bellamy is actually pretty soft and protective of her when someone starts to threaten her (to leak her nudes or something idk)
okay I’m sorry, this probably wasn’t exactly what you were expecting, but it’s where my brain took me.
Invincible
Summary: Finn tries to blackmail Clarke into breaking up with Bellamy by threatening to leak her nudes.
Rated M, ~2,900 words
warning for implied/referenced abuse
Clarke is at her locker after school, already dressed in herred and blue cheer uniform for practice, when a pair of strong arms wrap aroundher from behind. Clarke smiles and leans back against him as his lips pressagainst the top of her head.
“Hey, Princess,” Bellamy murmurs. “Will I see you afterpractice?”
Clarke turns in his arms so she’s facing him. God, she stillcan’t believe she’s so lucky to have him, when she knows every other girl inschool wants him. They’ve only been dating a little over a month, and she getsa rush every time he touches her, gets butterflies every time she sees him.
They haven’t had sex yet, but she’s pretty sure it’s goingto be soon. She’s been holding off, trying to take things slow after her lastboyfriend pressured her into doing things she didn’t really want to do. ButBellamy has been so patient with her, despite the fact that so far, they’vedone nothing more than make out on his couch, his hands on her breasts over herclothes. But she doesn’t want to wait much longer.
“Yes,” she tells him. “I’ll come to you after I’m done.”
“Okay,” he grins. “I’ll drive you home.” He lets her go, andClarke notices a couple of his teammates standing behind him, waiting for him.He always seems to have an entourage. “I’ll see you later,” he says.
“Not going to kiss your girl goodbye, Blake?” Murphy snorts.
“Shut up, Murphy,” Bellamy scoffs. Clarke can feel her faceheating up. “I’ll see you later,” he repeats to Clarke, and then he struts offdown the hallway, Murphy and Miller in tow.
A second later, Raven slams Clarke’s locker door shut.“Would you hurry up? We’re going to be late.”
------
She walks out of the gym an hour later with Raven and Harper, sweaty and tired.
“You guys want to study together? I need help before thismath test coming up,” Harper says.
“Can’t, I’m meeting Bellamy,” Clarke says.
“Did he ask you to prom yet?” Harper asks.
“Not yet,” Clarke says.
“Well, he better hurry up. Everyone is saying you guys areshoo-in for king and queen.”
“Oh, please,” Clarke rolls her eyes, playing it off. Butshe’s pretty sure they’re a shoo-in too. She was already pretty popular beforeshe and Bellamy started dating, but as soon as people found out they weretogether, it’s like she was suddenly everyone’s favourite person. When shewalks down the halls with him, she swears she can feel everyone watching them. And the popularity thing is trivial, she knows that. She also knows it’stemporary, and probably not even real. There are definitely a few girls who she’ssure are jealous, who talk about her behind her back, wondering why Bellamy pickedher instead of them.
Still, when she’s with Bellamy, she doesn’t care. She feelsinvincible.
“The quarterback and the cheerleader. You guys are so cliché,”Raven says with a roll of her eyes.
“As if you aren’t also dating someone on the football team,”Clarke snorts. “It’s not my fault my boyfriend is more popular than yours.”
“Yeah, that’s not hard. Even I hate Murphy at least seventyper cent of the time. He has asked me to prom, however.”
“Bellamy is probably just waiting for the right moment,”Clarke says defensively.
“He’s probably waiting until you have sex with him to askyou,” Raven says.
“He is not!”
Raven shrugs. “Whatever.”
“I’m going now,” Clarke says. “See you guys tomorrow.”
“Raven, study together?” Harper asks as Clarke walks away.
Raven scoffs. “I don’t need to study.”
Clarke walks down the hall, in the opposite direction toRaven and Harper, towards the football field, where Bellamy is probably stilltraining with the rest of the team. She doesn’t even make it outside beforesomeone grabs her arm. She jerks away instinctively, knowing it’s not Bellamyor one of her other friends. She stops, turning to see Finn standing there. Shesteps further away from him, stomach churning.
“Don’t touch me,” she says.
“Clarke,” Finn says, looking at her with big sad eyes. Eyesshe used to melt into. Now they make her feel nauseous.
“What do you want?”
“I want you back,” he says. He sounds pathetic. “Please. Iknow I fucked up, but I’m in love with you. We’re supposed to be together.”
“Fuck off, Finn,” Clarke spits. “I don’t want to be withyou. I’m with Bellamy now.”
“Come on, Clarke,” Finn says. “I know you’re only with himto make me jealous. You can stop pretending now, I get it. I’m jealous. I wantyou back.”
“Leave me alone, Finn,” Clarke says. “You’re delusional. I don’twant anything to do with you. You hurt me and you used me and you made me feelweak and powerless. Not only do I not want to be with you, I don’t ever want toeven see you again. I thought I made that clear last time.”
Finn’s face hardens. “I don’t believe you.”
Clarke wants to scream with frustration. “Fine! Don’tbelieve me. It doesn’t change anything.”
“If you don’t leave him and come back to me, I’ll have totake more drastic measures.”
“More drastic measures? What does that even mean?”
Finn gets out his phone, and Clarke watches him tap at it afew times before he shows it to her. Her stomach drops, and her face grows hot. It’s a picture of her, naked. One she’d sent him when she thought she was inlove with him. She knows there are plenty more where that came from, includingones he took of her after he was done fucking her.
“I told you to delete those.”
“You know I couldn’t do that.”
Her voice grows quiet. “What are you doing to do with them?”
“Break up with Bellamy and come back to me, or I’ll postthem online. Everyone in school will see. Bellamy will see. They’ll all knowwhat a slut you really are.”
Tears well in her eyes. “I won’t.”
“You really want these out there?” He scrolls through hisphone. “I think I have a good one with my come all over your back somewhere.”
Clarke shakes her head. “Bellamy won’t let you get away withthis.”
“If you tell him, I’ll leak them anyway.”
Clarke falls silent, trying to think of a way out of this.Anything she can think of results in him posting the photos anyway, and that’sthe one thing she doesn’t think she could bear. It would be humiliating. Forthe rest of her high school life she’d be known as a slut. People would savethe pictures, laugh at her, do who knows what else with them.
“Fine,” she says. She has no other options at this point. The best she can hope for is to do what he says, then hope she can get herhands on his phone at some point to delete the photos.
Finn beams, and he almost looks like a regular, happyteenager, and not a psychopath. “I knew you’d see reason,” he says. He stepsforward, to kiss her, or hug her, Clarke isn’t sure. She backs away.
“I’m still technically with Bellamy,” she says. “I’m not a cheater.”Not like some people.
Finn rolls his eyes. “Fine. Let me know when you’ve dumpedhim and I’ll come over.”
“Okay,” Clarke agrees.
Finn smiles at her again before he goes, and then Clarke makesher way to the football field in a trance. She waits on the bleachers forpractice to finish, knots in her stomach. She doesn’t want to break up withBellamy. It’s only been a month, but she’s pretty sure she’s in love with him.And it’s good this time, not like it was with Finn. Bellamy always makes herfeel safe and wanted and powerful. Yet, as much as she can’t bear the thoughtof losing Bellamy, the thought of the whole school, and who knows else seeingher naked, is even worse.
The coach lets the boys go, and Bellamy makes a beeline forClarke, a dopey grin on his face. Clarke’s heart squeezes in her chest. Shedoesn’t want to do this.
Bellamy falls onto the bench next to her, sweaty and panting. He goes in for a kiss, but Clarke puts her hand up to stop him.
“No one’s watching,” he laughs. Then he sees Clarke’sexpression and his face falls. “What’s wrong?”
“I want to break up,” Clarke says. Straight to the point. Nosense in dragging it out.
Bellamy looks like she hit him. Stunned, and hurt. “Breakup?” he swallows. “Why?”
“I’m going back to Finn.”
Bellamy shakes his head, confused. “Clarke,” he says, hisvoice shaking. “Finn cheated on you. He—he was awful to you. You told me—”
“I know what I told you,” Clarke cuts him off. She hasn’ttold him the extent of what it was like with Finn, but he knows enough. “But I’mstill going back to him. I’m sorry. I—” she cuts herself off with a sob.
Instantly, Bellamy has his arms around her. “Clarke,” hesays, soothing. “What’s really going on? Did he do something to you?”
Clarke shakes her head, pulling away. “No.”
“Are you sure? You can tell me. You can tell me anything, Ipromise.”
Clarke shakes her head. “Please, just drop it, Bellamy,” shepleads, voice watery through her tears. “If I tell you and he finds out…” shetrails off, shaking her head. She’s looking steadfastly at her hands in herlap.
“Did he threaten you?” Bellamy growls. Clarke bursts into afresh round of tears. “Fuck,” Bellamy says. “I’m going to kill him.”
“You can’t, Bellamy,” Clarke sobs.
“Why not? I’ll protect you, I promise. He won’t lay a handon you.”
“It’s not that,” Clarke says. “He has… pictures of me. Fromwhen we were together. He said he’d post them online if I didn’t take him back.”
“Naked pictures,” Bellamy surmises.
Clarke nods, already feeling ashamed just telling him aboutit. “I know how it makes me look. I never should have sent them, or let himtake pictures of me. I just—I thought I loved him.”
“Fuck, Clarke,” Bellamy says. “That’s not on you. He’s theone betraying your trust. He’s the asshole here.”
“You don’t think I’m—I don’t know—slutty?”
“Of course not. I mean, it’s not like I’ve never sent a dickpic before.”
Somehow, Clarke manages to laugh at that through her tears. “Notto me though.”
“No, well. We’re taking things slow.”
“But what am I going to do about Finn? About the photos? Ican’t let the whole school see them. He said I have to message him tonightafter I break up with you so he can come over. If I don’t, he’ll post thephotos.”
“Okay,” Bellamy says. “Okay, it’s okay. We can figure thisout. Tell him you broke up with me, but tell him your mom says you can’t haveanyone over. I’ll post something vague and sad on Twitter or Facebook or somethingso he thinks it’s real.”
Clarke nods. “Okay. And then tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow he dies.”
“Bellamy.”
“Don’t worry, Princess. I’m going to handle it. I won’t letanyone see those pictures, okay, baby?”
Clarke nods. “Okay.”
“Okay. I guess I should go and tell everyone we broke up.” Clarkenods. He hesitates. “We’re not… we’re not actually broken up though, are we?”
Clarke shakes her head. “We’re not broken up.”
Bellamy smiles in relief. “Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow. Tellyour mom not to let Finn in if he comes by.”
“I will.”
 -----
Finn seems to buy that her mom won’t let him come over. Heasks her to sneak out and meet him, but Clarke tells him Abby is watching herlike a hawk. She hopes he believes it. She’s paranoid she’ll say the wrongthing and he’ll leak the pictures.
Raven and Harper both text her, having heard a rumour thatshe broke up with Bellamy. Clarke ignores the texts. She doesn’t feel liketrying to explain right now, and she’s still hoping she’s going to wake up atany moment and find out it’s all been a sick nightmare.
She sleeps restlessly that night, and when she wakes in themorning her stomach is heavy with dread, before she even remembers why. Shetells her mom she doesn’t want to go to school, but Abby makes her go anyway, when Clarke can’t come up with a good reason to stay home. Abby drops her atthe front gate, and Finn is waiting for her. He kisses her, and Clarke wants tovomit.
He grabs her hand tightly, and tugs at her arm, forcing herto walk inside with him.
“I’ll walk you to your locker,” he says, as if he thinks he’sbeing a perfect gentleman, as if he isn’t literally blackmailing her into beinghis girlfriend.
Clarke walks with her eyes on the ground. She’s ashamed tobe seen with him. Feels his grip on her, suffocating her, making her feel likeshe did when they were together, like she’s worthless, like he’s the only goodthing in her life. She knows now that isn’t true, but even the memory of it is stifling.
They reach her locker, and Finn drops her hand so she canopen it.
Slam—Finn is shoved against the locker beside hers.Clarke jumps out of the way, heart pounding. Bellamy has Finn pinned to thelocker, his hands fisted in Finn’s shirt. Finn looks terrified. Bellamy glancesat Clarke before looking back to Finn.
“You piece of shit,” Bellamy growls. “Get out your phone.” Finnhesitates. Bellamy shoves him against the locker, hard, and Finn winces. “Getit out, or Miller, Murphy, and I are going to make sure you never walk again.”
Clarke glances around to see Miller and Murphy behindBellamy, his usual entourage ready to back him up. Clarke wonders how much hetold them, if they know anything about what Finn has done, or whether they’rejust willing to fight for Bellamy, no questions asked.
“Three against one?” Finn swallows. “That’s hardly fair.”
“Fair?” Bellamy spits. “You want to talk about fair, youabusive asshole? What you did to Clarke isn’t fair. The only fair thing will beyou getting what’s coming to you. Now get out your fucking phone, unlock it,and hand it over.”
Finn pulls his phone out of his pocket, presses his thumbagainst the screen to unlock it, then holds it out. Bellamy looks at Clarke.
“Take it,” he says. “Delete what you need to delete.”
Clarke scrambles forward and grabs the phone from Finn’shand. She finds the pictures of herself, along with a lot of other pictures ofnaked women. Clarke deletes them all so he can’t do this to someone else.Clarke goes to give the phone back.
“Hold on to it,” Bellamy says. “At least until we take thisto the authorities.”
“The authorities?” Finn stammers. He’s sweating now.
“First we’ll be telling Principal Jaha. Then we’re taking itto the cops. Miller’s dad thinks Clarke has enough grounds for a restrainingorder.”
“Fuck you,” Finn says. “I haven’t done anything wrong.”
Bellamy’s face goes from angry to murderous. Clarke’s heartpounds. She really doesn’t want Bellamy to commit murder for her. To herrelief, he steps back, letting Finn go.
“Don’t come near her again. Next time you won’t get off soeasy.”
Finn scampers away, with one last glimpse back at Clarke. The crowd that had formed to watch Bellamy beat Finn to a pulp disperses, disappointed no one got hit.
Bellamy reaches for Clarke, pulling her into his arms.
“Are you okay?” he asks her.
Clarke nods. “Yeah. Thank you. Are we really going to theauthorities?”
“Only if you want to. I didn’t really talk to Miller’s dad.I was just bluffing. But I do think you could probably get a restraining orderif you think you need one. And we should at least tell Jaha. We might be ableto get Finn expelled.”
“Okay,” Clarke agrees.
Bellamy pulls away so he can look at her. “I’m so sorry hedid that to you. I know you haven’t told me everything he did, and I don’texpect you to, if you don’t want to. It just makes me so mad that he hurt you.Makes me want to hurt him.”
“But you didn’t.”
“Figured if we want Jaha on our side we can’t give Finn anyammunition.”
“You’re so smart,” Clarke smiles, and Bellamy leans in tokiss her. She melts into him, feeling at peace once again. The bell rings then, and Clarke curses it in her mind. She just wants to stay here in Bellamy’s arms.
“I’ll see you at lunch,” Bellamy says. “I, uh—I have somethingto ask you. It’s about prom.”
“About prom, huh?” Clarke smirks.
“Think I might have given it away,” Bellamy grins.
“You can just ask me now, if you want.”
Bellamy kisses her again, still smiling. “Will you go toprom with me?”
